Ohhhh, duh. Missed that. You could be taking it all together. I take all 300mg together. I know the official "rule" is 150mg at a time, but then, our bodies don't care about some of the rules.

So, 2 Proferrin at one time, and currently 50 x 3?

I've been splitting the Proferrin 1 am and 1 pm just because I hate swallowing those big suckers! But otherwise yes, you got it.

Aren't you splitting the Proferrin into 2 pieces and taking it that way? I thought we talked about it. Absorption is better when you split the horse pill into 2 pieces.

Yes I do break them in half before I take them - I forgot to mention that. I still split the dose between am and pm though because if I take too many vits at one time I get a pouch-ache.

People keep talking about cutting up the Proferrin. I don't do that as I have no problems swallowing them. What is cutting them up supposed to do?

I thought it was something like this. I am only resisting cutting them up because (a) it's a pain and (b) IME cut up vitamins taste like crap.

I can actually take all my pills for each dose all at once. That's 3-5 pills and most of them are as big as the Proferrin. I feel pretty lucky that way.

Marie,

The proferrin breaks in half easily by hand and unlike with most vits that are split or crushed, there is no bitter taste at all.

My pouch doesn't like big pills. They go down ok but then I get a pouch-ache if I take too many or too large of a pill at one time. I think they plug up my outlet until they start to dissolve!
