Also I DEEPLY mistrust " *** bars " ( ie so called dietetic candy bar tasting protein containing concentrated calorie bars) ......and the diet industry in GENERAL ... ( truly don't know why trainers call them that because you NEVER catch gay people who are generally in GREAT shape eating them... lol ... rather misguided HUNGRY dieting straight people lol...who are going to STAY fat thanks to the huge amount of largely empty calories ( carbs plus fat plus sweeteners and a little protein added GRRR )
Its a catchy name ... hope I haven't inadvertently offended anybody but Ive thought of them that way for years with the addendum that Real gay people are WAY to smart to eat them lol ! I do think its one of those words thats eventually going to be eradicated from the English language ..but as I work in the fashion industry it gets bandied about a lot in a playful way ... like I said no offense intended.

So as a certified personal trainer with weight issues I used to have a major S.. H...T fit when clients told me they were drinking shakes and eating *** bars to lose weight lol ( i still flatly REFUSE to call those bars protein bars because thats exactly what they are NOT lol ) ... because to me those products were KEEPING them ( and the diet industry ) fat ..... I really HELD to the party line of eat lean protein like fish .. chicken..etc.. six times a day to stave of hunger if U had to . ( which works pre RNY as long as U don't mind chicken breast and egg whites coming out of Ur ears lol ) but Post RNY the pouchie just cant digest enough of that stuff !
In my case about six months after my RNY I became a convert to two or more protein teas a day.... because my hunger came back and the easily digestible whey protein really helped fill me up and keep it at bay .
by the way ... my weight is holding , my muscles are defined , my life is INCREDIBLY stressfullf and chaotic BUT .... Im STILL NOT gaining weight .. THANK GOD !!!!

NO WAY would I return to the creeping weight gain and wolf-like hunger pangs pre- protein tea . I personally drink about three single scoop servings of banana flavored isopure as a creamer in coffee or chai tea throughout the day .. a protein latte .. YUM !!! 300 calories ABSOLUTELY well spent lol

And no isopure isn't milk based - its whey based ( well whey IS a cheese by product but I don't think thats what U meant Koko ) . U DON'T need to mix it with milk for it to be creamy and good is what I mean. I just mix a scoop with a bit of water in the morning and then pour my concentrated chai tea on top ... a chai tea latte .
I can do the same thing with hot coffee ... Yum !
Now for what its worth .... I tried soy protein shakes and rice /pea / soy vegan ones and they simply dont get metabolized as well as whey does . Yep, whey grosses me out sometimes too.. ( especially if I smell it in a cup that sat overnight or heaven forbid .. and uncleaned blender ..yeccch ) . The trick is to make sure you clean Ur mixing Stuff RIGHT afterwards ... NEVER let it dry on there !
