Same Time Last Year

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday.  Last year we went to the Melting Pot.  I remember that night because I was so miserable.  I spent most of the night in the bathroom because of diarrhea.  I was so fatigued that I could barely function and getting dressed and going out that night was so difficult.  I looked like **** and I felt worse.  They guy came around to take pictures and she wanted one so I was stuck.  Probably the only picture of me for years.

What I remember most is how bad I felt, not how bad I looked.  I didn't care about my looks at all.
Tonight we went out to dinner (again) to celebrate her birthday and since no one was coming around taking pictures I took this one in the bathroom.

While I am still not that into my looks I just feel so much better.  I have actually been functioning and doing things.  I spent a bit of time in the bathroom tonight but that is because I drink about a gallon of fluid a day and I am always needing to pee.
The important thing is that I actually enjoyed myself.  I didn't feel like it was a chore that I had to do but it was something I wanted to do.  I spent time with my boys and my grand daughter.  Before I was too sick to spend much time with them.
Next month it will be a year and I am just do glad to be feeling better.

I'm so glad things have improved for you. You've endured so much this past year but I think you've come out on top.

LadyTazz,
you always seem to look on the bright side, even you're in the middle of a tough spot.
I appreciate your being a LW Goddess ahead of me on the WLS recovery road.

All hail LW Goddess LadyTazz, who has found joy, retains a sense of humor, and appears to have kickass biceps.

Lol@biceps.  The only exercise i get this days is picking up my bottle of water.  Next month, when I get some money, I am going to pay for a membership at the community center down the street.  I may even pay for a year for the family.  I am looking forward to taking water aerobic classes and using the weight room.
