A wow before my ouch!

I am scheduled for shoulder surgery  Friday. Today I went for my preop.  I spent 2 hours trying to get my bill straight. Yeah...you have to pay upfront now before they will touch you $2000 later I went to see the pre op people. As I get on the scale the nurse chuckles as she writes on her little clip board and says "well we never have to worry about you being obese do we." I had to laugh. Then she said look at that blood pressure perfect... As she starts to interview me she begins to ask me what surgeries I have had. I told her about my RNY, Bowel obstruction, etc. And she stares at me in disbelief. She just kept looking at me. She said how much have you lost? I said 87lbs. She said no way. ..you don't have any lose skin, wrinkles, etc?? She said she had lost 65lbs on her own but had to have a tummy tuck. She said they took 12 inches off her tummy. She said she  was jealous that my skin looked so good. She said I bet your husband is proud!~ I said yeah but he has always loved me thick or thin. We had a great discussion on diet and exercise. She asked me if I could be pregnant I said no if so I would have some explaining to do. She said "Me neither..turns out she was divorced and hadn't had sex in 3 years. I had to laugh. I told her she should try it...that is something else that improved after WLS. She laughed.

I am not looking forward to my shoulder surgery but it was nice to not be treated like a weight loss patient. If I hadn't of told her she would have never known. I knew my life depended on it so I came clean. Good wow for the day anyway.
Swing some lizards surgery is July 1. Prayfully all will go well!~

I pray I experience what you did today just once sometime in the future......for those who have struggled with our weight for years, this was a wonderful story to share!!!!

Love your story!  I have met several new people recently that "didn't know me fat"......one of them saw a photo of me fat and said, "gosh--you did a great job losing all your baby weight". 

I didn't say anything except, "Yea, I finally got it off"  (Baby weight, marriage weight, summer weight, holiday weight, lifetime weight, etc.)

Sorry you have to have surgery but that is a great story.  You have done such a wonderful job through all kinds of issues. 

I'm swinging for you.  I'm sure you will handle it well, as you have everything in the past.
