Could it be strictures?
So I rode it out last night and woke up with some back pain, nothing even remotely close to what it was yesterday so that's good. I called my doc this morning and talked to a different nurse. I was basically told, there is no way I can have a stricture at 4 weeks out and that I am still just swollen from the surgery, that this is completely normal and to suck it up (in much nicer words though). Tried the nectar sample of roadside lemonade that I got from vitalady, got two sips down, hurt like hell and back up it came. So there goes my sample, ugh.
Scar tissue causes strictures and its a crap shoot of who gets one and who doesn't. Found this online:
Strictures do not happen because you do anything wrong. It is not exactly known why, but the thought is that the area where the stomach and the intestine join up is lacking in a little bit of blood flow to the area (ischemic due to dividing the blood supply to that part during the surgery) which makes the healing process different and you get a narrowing and scar rather then normal healing. That is why they are usually started 4-12 weeks after surgery. It is a techinical aspect of surgery as there are different width openings a surgeon can make. Smaller ones have a better weight loss, but a higher stricture rate. Larger ones have a lower stricture rate, but also less weight loss.
One thing is for sure, the earlier it is caught, and the less it has narrowed at the time of treatment, the easier it is to treat and possibly the fewer dilitations are required.
Go see another Dr if they won't listen to you NOW.

Thanks ladies. I left a message with the nurse now that I have all this ammo to use in my defense. Hopefully she will call back and I can get this checked out. Boy am I glad I don't have hunger pains because I really don't eat or drink anymore. I know I have to so that I don't get dehydrated, but it is so hard to do when it hurts. I was able to get some powerade down this morning and it was just a discomfort, so I got ballsy and tried a thicker protein drink and holy-magoly, I won't be trying that again anytime soon!
