new to the LW forum
Good morning all,
Thanks to Price S.'s suggestion, I'm checking out this forum from now on. Yesterday was my 1 year anniversary and I need some help on menu ideas/keeping my carbs low. I was reading the "menu and miles posts". I think they'll help me tremendously because I've been feeling-after 2 major stalls of about 8 weeks each (including the one I'm now in) maybe I'm done losing.
I can see by the menu posts that I'm "doing" too many carbs. Story of my life.
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and says thanks in advance for any advice/help for helping me get past this.

I think 130 is doable. I picked 140 because it is the highest weight I can be and have a "normal" BMI. I'm 5'3" also. I used to be 5'4", but have lost an inch to age (65).
I would really like to get to 130 myself. The weight loss is much slower now, but the surgeon's office and lots of books say we have an 18 month honeymoon period to optimize our loss. I don't worry about losing too much. So many people on this board say our bodies will stop losing when the weight is right for us.
I know I haven't been pushing myself exercise wise. I go to three pilates classes a week, but have slacked off on the weight machines at the gym. I need to do both types of exercise. Then I need to do more cardio than 2-3 short dog walks a day.
It's a lifetime commitment, but I need to develop good habits in the beginning. I'm hard on myself, but I know I need to be. So glad you joined this board. Price is one of my heroes here.
I like your saying that comparison is the thief of all joy, since we are all so different.

Welcome!! You should also consider doing a food tracker..I use fitday, I know someone just posted about what everyone's favorites are..you should check that out and see what would work best for you. Fitday really keeps me on track...because I know I will have to post it later if I eat it and I don't want to ruin my carb vs protein vs calorie ratios.. ![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/lol.gif)
