Let's see. I'm pre op and I've bought lots of samples of protein powders. I've bought a blendr bottle from GNC, and also a magic bullett. I have a variety of beef and chicken stock, I have my chewable vitamins for after surgery. A variety of flavors of SF Jello and puddings. Lots of people say our taste will change after surgery so I do not want lots of one thing I may not like. I also have some SF popsicles. Lots of water. I have a container of Unjury unflavored, and chicken broth. Also a container of syntax nectar fuzzy navel, I am drinking now as well. Hopefully the container of vanilla isopure I have I will like after surgery since I can't drink it now. I also have a variety of the clear Isopure RTD protein drinks. You can get them online but my commissary carries them cheaper. I also have some gas-x that was reccomended. I still need to get some milk of maginsum(sp?). Oh I also bought a couple cream soups. I'm trying to be prepared, or more like OCD as my hubby calls it. Oh yeah, also crystal light, and some sobe zero, and vitamin water zero. I cannot drink the same thing over and over so lots of different flavors I think will help me out. Good luck.

Hopefully your surgeon's office will provide a list for you.

I bought many, many sample of protein drinks from vitalady.com. I suggest a blender bottle with
a metal ball. Just used that to make iced coffee with Beneprotein powder. Beneprotein is the only powder I like. It has absolutely no flavors or fake sweetener, just plain whey isolate. I can only get it online. Have found MedcoStore.com cheapest, but have to buy 6 cans. Also on Amazon for one can to try.

Try to buy things at places that take returns, like Costco or some of the vitamin stores. Find out the policy, because you don't want to be stuck with something. Your tastes really change after surgery.

This site has lots of help. I still write down things people use and suggest. The Menus and Miles post always has ideas.

Vitamins are sometimes a problem. I struggled with chewables until my nurse finally said I could take pills again. Can't even take the chewable calciums and some people like them like candy. I really react to the taste of all artificial sweeteners, so that eliminated sugar free pudding, jello, etc. If you like them SF pudding and jello are good early soft foods.

Good luck. It's a balance between having some things ready and finding out what you can tolerate and like.

I would stick to sample packs of protein. What one likes another wont. Plus what taste good at first may not later. Frozen sugar free treats count as liquid I went through these like crazy!

Don't get to carried away buying to much, you can buy as you go a long!

I did organic chicken broth from costco.  It was my drink of choice for about 3 weeks post op.  I think the sodium was soothing to my sleeve.  I did use my heating pad a lot.  I had surgery in Feb., but since I was in MX it wasn't cold.  I found it comforting.  I did buy Isopure fruit punch protein drink.  I bought at gnc.   It's clear and allowed right away.  Probably drank 10 bottles of that..  It has 40 g. of protein in it per bottle, so you only need to get down two to get the minimum required protein in a day.  Some people hate it.  I tolerated it.  Would only drink it now if I was made to.  Happy thoughts to you!

Oh...don't forget to take before pics and take measurements.  It was the last thing that I wanted to do but I'm glad that I did it in hindsight.

So glad to read this post. I have purchased the Unjury starter kit and Celebrate vitamins. I haven't tried any of them at all. I also want to remember to take pics, etc, so I can "see" my progress.

Thanks!
