surprise six pound moment

I am getting my house ready for a guest and that means stashing stuff, moving stuff, dumping stuff. Some of you will get that I am not a perfect, not even close, housekeeper. I moved my set of three pound weights upstairs to my closet. They seemed pretty heavy.

Then I remembered as of this morning I am six pounds from my first goal of a normal BMI range. I will be glad to shed those six pounds. Then I marvel that I am 78 pounds less now. I don't think I could even lift 78 pounds! Where does it go?

Thanks for letting me give my silly share. This is one group that I would hope will understand such a moment.

It does make you wonder how we carried around those extra pounds! No wonder we were so tired before and had to eat all the time..had to keep up with the extra energy it took to carry around that extra weight..thanks for the reminder to look at the big picture of wls!!

I have 6 people living in 1300 sq ft. Your house is probably nothing like mine LOL.... I have wondered myself where and how I carried all that excess, my knees remind me almost daily but the ability to move more freely feels so wonderful! Those 6 pounds will just DROP and you may not even notice, GL

One of my first goals was to lose 50 lbs, the amount of a horse feed bag.  It was a weight I could relate to and before surgery I used to complain that I was carrying around that much all the time that I didn't need to.  Now I have lost almost 2x that much.  Amazing.  I can't imagine how I did that.  I certainly couldn't move through the day with one now, much less 2.

I do get it!

I have lost 50 lbs and recently carried a 50 lb sack of dog food up two flights of stairs.  That wasn't easy.  So glad to have it off my frame FOREVER!

I keep telling my husband that I can't keep up with him on a walk because I have low blood oxygen and carry an extra hundred pounds.  He admits that he'd be pretty tired at high altitude with a 100lb pack!

excellent perspective.

I was putting a lb of rocks into a large empty planter for every lb I lost.  I'd put the rocks into those mesh bags that lemons and oranges come in, then put the mesh bags in the planter. When the planter was full, it was only 35 lbs, and I had a really hard time moving it.   That was a revelation for me.

I quit when I decided I needed the rocks in my garden for a dry stream bed. But now I collect big rocks, and the process of putting them into my dry stream bed reminds me of the planter, full after only 35 lbs.

A couple of weeks ago, my trainer had me carrying 2 kettle bells, weighing a total weight of about 48 lbs. This amount of weight, is almost half of my total weight loss. I thought and said, it is no wonder that I felt so tired and horrible all the time. I could carry 48 lbs, but there is no way that I could carry 100 lbs. So, making comparisons can be quite an eye opener to the reality of how much weight we have lost and what a toll it took on our bodies.

Wendy, I understand completely, even about the stashing, removing, and dumping stuff.
