3 weeks out still feeling a little crappy

Hi all,

I'm 3 weeks out now and quite often still feel like by belly is falling out or the dinosaurs have had a gnaw at my innards.  I went back to work part time yesterday and did a few hours then and today only did 4.5 hours.  I work in an office but I'm up and down quite a bit from my desk.  I feel just terrible today and like I said feels like my belly has fallen out, kind f a dragging feeling.

I really can't be bothered eating and struggling today to even bother as I just feel so crappy.

Is this normal at 3 weeks out?

Cheers from Karin (in Oz)

Yep, it's normal. I went back half days after 2 weeks too. Would come home and nap. Take it slow and be patient with yourself.

You're doing great!

Quite normal.  I certainly felt better at 3 weeks than I did right after surgery, but it took a while to be back to "normal". I was swollen from the surgery for at least that much time.  I really think my energy came back when I got my D3 level up.  I was in bed at 8:30 for months.

Even if you don't feel like eating, concentrate on getting your fluid and protein in.  You will feel much better if you don't end up dehydrated.

Hang in there.  It does get better.

Thanks guys, I'm just having a very bad downer today and have felt pretty awful all day long. Even had shocking diarrhoea tonight and have no idea what brought that on. :(

Hang in there Karin!

Your body is still trying to adjust to all the changes and healing from surgery.

Just make sure you keep up on your fluids. If you get dehydrated, you feel even worse.

Do you take something to help with acid, like pepcid or prilosec? Just  a thought.

Feel better soon!

It takes a while to feel back to yourself, I think for me it was almost a month.  Take it easy, at least you should be through the worst of it!

Hi surgery buddy! I'm 3 weeks out today as well. I have off days, but am mostly feeling pretty good. I hear you about the belly-falling-out feeling. Definitely odd. And the pain on my left side can still make me gasp.

I'm sorry you're feeling so crappy. Try and eat anyway and if eating really is no interest then make sure what you do eat is good protein. Are you getting in water and vitamins? A lack of those can make you feel even more dragging.

Take care of you and message me any time! We're on this journey together. Hugs!

Thanks guys for your support, I guess I'm pushing myself a little too much at the moment.  I just get frustrated by doing very little.  I've got to go into work again today but will only do so for a few hours as it's knocking me around too much.  I suppose only time will heal.
