Weight going up!!!

I posted a few days ago about not having energy etc.  Well now, my weight has started going up pretty rapidly.  I have gained 2.5# in the last week.  That may not seem much but I haven't had any week where I gained weight since my surgery.  I was about 10# from goal and now am going in the wrong direction.  Still exercising but maybe not active enough.  I am supposed to be having plastic surgery the first part of August and need to up my protein to 150 gm.  I am petrified that my weight will go up as well if I do this.  I know I have been hungrier the last month so have been measuring my portions so I don't overeat.  All my tests seem to be normal.  Should I not worry about it and eat the protein anyway or back off and go all liquid like I did at first?  I am getting kind of panicky and afraid I will lose control and end up where I was before.  Was really bummed out when my appetite returned with a vengance.

Are you keeping track of your calories, carbs & proteins on a website like fitday.com?  If not, maybe start now so you can see what you need to change...  And post on our daily foods post here to help you stay accountable.  Good luck with PS!!

You would have to had eaten around 10,000 extra calories in the last week to really gain 2 1/2 lbs so I am guessing it is water weight.  Have you been getting in extra sodium somewhere?  How is your fluid intake been?
I wouldn't worry about adding in protein.  I have found my weight loss increased when my protein did.  The main thing to watch is your carb intake.  Have you been eating extra carbs lately?  I have found that carbs, especially refined carbs, make my appetite increase.
I really encourage you to increase the protein before surgery.  I usually get in 125+ grams of protein a day and when I had my hernia surgery in April I healed so fast it shocked me.  It was totally healed by 2 weeks out.

Thanks for your replies.  I started writing down what I was eating and found I wasn't eating enough!  I went to a support group last night and the leader suggested that I was overtraining and not eating enough.  That was why I was so hungry and tired.  As for carbs, I know I don't tolerate them well.  Blood sugar goes up when I have more than 30 or so.  I think I was more concerned with the exhaustion than the weight as I remember how tired I was after RNY surgery.  Its funny how easily I can get out of balance without really being aware of it.  I just got used to how I ate and exercised and didn't pay attention.  I just want to be in the best physical place when I have surgery as I know there's a lot of "mental" stuff that will happen after.
