Gina, you really are human.  Every morning I am amazed that you think of something for us to stew over.  Glad you are brain dead in that catagory also sometimes.

After having a bummer yesterday, I am better today and ready to go back to my life.  I wanted to get my mini cooper cleaned up yesterday so I could take it in to see about trading it in.  I love it but it is a stck shift and my knee just doesn't like that so I need an automatic.  I would get another one but the dealer, hence only authorized repair shop is 2 hrs away and I don't think I want to go through that again.  So I'm not sure what I want.  Good gas milage (around 40), small, hatchback so I can put feed bags in, and automatic are my biggest concerns.  Not white, silver or gold.  I'm sick of all those neutral colored cars.

Glad your knee is feeling better this morning, Price. As for cars, I'd take a Mini Cooper in a hot minute. They have a British history that goes along with the MG. We drive nothing but Subarus. Hubby drives a Baja. It's a little truck but with a full back seat and a moon roof. They don't make them any more but you can find them used. Love our Subarus!

Subarus are one of the things I have been thinking about.  Also VW.  But DH is in love with his hyunda and wants me to look at those too. He did more research and test driving than anyone I have even know of before buying it.  However, he is 6'4", I am 4'11" and we have much different needs in a vehicle. They have really great reviews and are less pricey than some of the other options. I don't want one like his but there are smaller options. So we'll see.

Price, have you considered the smaller Honda's as well? The Honda Civic gets impressive mileage. There is even one in the 40+ "club".

What you need to look at is a car that has adjustable pedals due to your vast difference in height. I'd look for that feature as standard.

Hadn't thought about adjustable petals, hum.  We had a Honda CRV for years and loved it but I like the old ones much better than the new ones.  I was thinking the Civic only comes in a sedan.  Got to have a wagon or at least a hatchback for feed sacks.

We just bought a ford freestyle, it does not get the gas mileage you would like but it does have the adjustable gas petals and I have found it to REALLY come in handy. I LOVE this car and will never buy another again.

Liz and I have a Cadillac with adjustable pedals and it does make a difference. Liz is "vertically challenged" compared to me and we are both able to adjust it to meet our needs.

Im with U about the old Honda CRVs . What a nice design ... the new ones .   Wish someone would make a small  cheap  durable  hybrid  SUV .
