Chewing
At a little over a year out, I was thinking about chewing today. I realize that I am not chewing my food up as much as I used to and thought I would share the reminder. Swallowing large chunks of food is one way to stretch the stoma, so it's a good thing to remember whether you're a week out or no longer a newbie. Just thinking.......
True! Great reminder and not chewing doesn't do your system any favors if you're trying to absorb nutrients from your food.

I have certainly gotten bad about that too. I probably do better with chewing than I do with large bites and eating fast. I do catch myself and try to slow down but I get done with my mini portions way faster than I used to. My seemly cast iron pouch seems to deal ok but that still doesn't mean it should have to.

Yep - I remember in the early out days I chewed my food into oblivion, now its just regular chewing like I did before. Like Price my pouch doesn't seem to care, but I do wonder about my stoma size...
