Hello to all of our Lightweights!!!  If you are visiting WELCOME....PLEASE JOIN US and POST!!!!!

Morning Everyone!   I haven't posted on fitday.com for awhile so I decided yesterday that I should see what my totals were and I was shocked!   Not because they were to high but because they were too low!!!   I was under 1000 calories which is about 600 calories less then I was getting in when I was maintaining my desired weight.  About 4 pounds have creeped on and I know some of it is summer swelling but I'm sure the other part of it is from not eating enough...something I  have told other people they should do "you have to eat to lose weight".

During the honeymoon period "Bad" carbs will slow down our losing but most of the time we don't realize thats even happening  because we are still losing and we "think" we are getting away with it, but worse than that,  "Bad Carbs" lead to bad habits and  then when we get to maintenance we start gaining.

Hi Roz.  I have to get back on track today. I weighed myself this morning and its totally unacceptable.  While my eating isn't bad, I have let Wheat Thins creep into my snacking routine, along with my beer.  SO - no beer and no snacking.  A protein drink will take the place of those.

B - 2 protein coffees
L -  1/3 piece of omelet
D - a brat dipped in bbq sauce
S - chocolate protein drink with SF/FF chocolate pudding, splash of SF peanut butter syrup.

Vits  yes
Water working on it.

careful with those knee-jerk reaction dietary changes, they can be just as bad as the bad behavior... at least you've pinpointed the culprits, eliminate them and carry on with your usual food plan so you don't starve yourself during the day and overeat at night (cuz that's what I'd do)
Some things just can't come into the house (or to work for me) cuz they have to be eaten until they are gone. For me it was peanut butter melt aways and NAS choco-dipped ice cream bars (this past week, they have since been eaten or trashed since I learned my lesson) I told my husband to not let me buy those evil things (he shops with me) and he promised to help. He loves my new body as much as I do :)
if i'm totally off base, ignore me, just wanted to share what i learned in case it might help you :)
have a great day!

its not really a knee jerk, as I've known all along what I need to do, and just haven't done it.  I typically allow protein type snacks into my diet and need to cut out the carby snacks.  I just need to get back to basics before it gets too late and I get frustrated with all of this.  Its a mind set I need to get into and get ready just to do it.  I've put on 10 lbs since November, and there really is no excuse for it.  This isn't typical bounce back, but is regain.

I do fine during the day, its at night when I sit down on the couch and watch TV.  Its just old habits creeping back in.  I won't totally deprive myself but will be much more cognizant of what I do put in my mouth.

tonight I want to make a chocolately protein drink with SF pudding - and i may put a splash of SF peanut butter syrup in it.  I've not made one before and have heard others talk about it and it sounds SO yummy.  That will fill me up, give me my extra protein and not give me the empty calories I've been taking in with the beer and wheat thins.  Its just changing my eating habits and holding myself accountable.

Thanks for your input.  I do know what you mean by starving yourself then overeating later cause you're just hungry.  I just do it because I'm bored.

The same is true for me Jody... I find myself in the evening after I put my daughter to bed looking through the cabinets for something snacky... and carby has been winning out ... letting taste guide me and not my brain for taste/protein/and low carb!  We can make better choices....we can do it! :D

I'm letting my hunger dictate my eating, except for the snacking and beer of course, where the extra calories are coming from.  I've noticed my portions are getting smaller again too, which is good.  I'm listening to my body instead of making it listen to me.

The SF PB syrup is just "ok".  Of course I prefer the real thing - lol.

I totally thought about you when I bought my new bag of soy crisps last week! They've been off the shopping list for a month or so, but seeing you post about them made me miss them. I bought BBQ :)

do the ww strawberry chocolate dipped bars become a compulsive eat for you? might try them if you say you can stop after one... then again might not... ice cream is one of my weaknesses. I'm working on it though.

I bought this coconut milk based ice cream (cookie dough in flavor) because 1- it comes in a pint so if i over eat once it's over with anyway, 2- because i am trying really hard to overcome my crack i mean ice cream addiction and learn moderation. it is soooo good that i have been able to curb my eating of it since i want to savor every bite :)

I LOVE bbq soy crisps!!  Glad to spread the joy!!

So far I have been good with only having one ice cream bar, they are very yummy and I can see wanting another one but so far I haven't, so I think it's ok.  For me it was fig newtons this last week... even had more than one package a couple times and gave myself a belly ache...did it stop me the next day...NO!  Yeah, we are all human and like you said as long as we recognize it and correct it...

I was glad to have found the WW and carbsmart bars, b/c esp during the summer when everyone else is having ice cream, I can feel normal!
