Time to check in...I'm coming up on 3 years post op!!

Hey LW's!! There should be at least a couple of you that still remember me, lol. Anyway...wanted to share a couple of things. I will be 3 years out as of June 16th and I am having plastics (extended abdominalplasty and breast lift) on June 22nd. I am not at my doc's goal, in fact I fluctuate 20-30 pounds above my doc's goal. But my plastic surgeon thinks I'm a good candidate and is behind me 100%. I don't think I'll ever get to my doc's goal but I'm okay with that. It feels amazing to feel normal like everyone else who would like like to lose 15 or 20 pounds. I've lost and maintained a 75 pound loss and that's nothing to sneeze at. My heart thanks me, my bp thanks me, my joints thank me and my dh thanks me...so it's all good!!

I'm a school secretary so I start my summer vacation next Friday and don't go back to wor****il the first part of August.  This will give me plenty of time to recuperate, get back to basics and catch up with all of my old lw friends and all of the new ones.

Let me just say if you are new...in the decision making phase, the insurance approval phase or an early out post op...hang in there and lean as hard as you need to on this forum.  The LW's are a rock.  You'll find the further out you get that life does go on but no one will ever truly understand you like your LW staple sisters & brothers do!!!

Love you all!!

You rock, Julie! Happy 3d Surgiversary, babeee!

I'll swing some crazy lizards for you on the 22nd and for as long as you need after. Get hold of Jody, she may be off this summer and she's been through what you're getting ready to go through.

It's so good to see you back on the LW board!

Thanks ladies for the support and well wishes.

She is going to do the extended tummy tuck which will come probably and inch or two around each side of my hip/flanks.  She is also doing debulking, you know the nice name for liposuction, in my upper abdomen and sides along with tightening of the interior muscles with what she calls a corset stitch.  Finally she will lift the breasts.  This is the same ps that did my breast reduction back in 2004 so I feel like I'm in good hands.  Her patient care coordinator did remind me of something...you know how so many gals refer to their breast as the "twins"...well when we were talking about asymetry and how noone's body is the same and even most of our breasts aren't identical, she said it's like the doctor says "Always sisters, but never twins".  It made me chuckle but I thought how true.  They're not coming out of a mold so they're never going to be identical. LOL.   Anyway it's supposed to be a 7 hour surgery and just 1 overnight stay...so cross your fingers and swing some lizards that all goes according to planned.

Julie

Good luck to you!!!  I also had a breast reduction prior to RNY and losing weight....but now I have NOTHING!  I have to wear a VS padded 2' thick to look normal in clothes!  Do they ever fill in some?  I feel like they concave!

Julie!  of course we remember your sweet self.  You've always been such a doll and so friendly to everyone.  Congratulations on your three years!  I'm so excited about your surgery.  Please keep in touch and let us know how it all goes.  We'll all be swinging whatever we can get our hands on.
