Welcome to the board...there are some really great protein bars (low carb) that are very satisfying during your cravings.  I get cravings / head hunger and that is how I cope.  I try to remember that S/F fudge pops and candy are really just that...they are still treats and when I really want on / something I have it.  But usually I can have a bar and be 100% happy with it.  Especially since some taste like candy but give us things we need.  Just choose carefully cause some have in LOTS of sugar, fat and calories.  In the beginning I ate a bite or two.  Good luck and your weight loss seems on target / great!

So Glad you found us!!!    It is possible that it could be just the time of the month.  You will soon be able to read your body.  Make sure you are getting your protein in and drinking your water.  Measuring you food during this time is very important!!!!

Everyone loses at a different pace but you can be sure we ALL go through periods where the scale doesn't move for a week (or sometimes more).  Those are times when our bodies just need to rest and catch up.  Don't let those times worry you because it is just useless time spent because They Are Going To Happen!   Did you take your measurments?  Most of us have found that during those stalls is when we lose the most inches.

Were you on Prilosec or something similiar before surgery and the Surgeon took you off of it?  My surgeon took me off of mine right away and after a week or so I got terrible rumblings in my pouch.  He told me to start taking it again and it made a world of difference.  2 1/2 years out and I still take it and if I miss 3 days or so I feel rumbles like I'm starving.

hey everyone! i have been out and about the past few days! thank you guys SO much for the warm welcoming :) I definitely feel like this is the right board for me :D

I started having protein bars (1 a day) split up into 2 meals/snacks to reduce my chocolate craving and get in my protein! I work at several different schools so I am usually driving around lunch time and it's nearly impossibly to have a nice lunch!

I haven't gotten my period in about a month even though i've had my pms symptoms. I think its from the surgery and the trauma to my body in the past month. But I feel great and have lost 2 more pounds since last week :)

Anyway, thank you everyone for your welcomes and suggestions!!!

take a deep breath and remember.... this is not an overnight thing.... when was the last time you lost 34 lbs in less than three weeks?

I remember losing a lb a day after the first week, and thinking, HEY, at this rate, even at half this rate, I'll be at goal in X days.... (sigh)

I can't eat much meat, I get WAY too full.  But I can't even eat 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, so go figure. We all have different guts. Just follow your doctor's plan, exercise, log your food, take your vitamins, and check in with us for moral support.

Congrats, and welcome Chantel.
