16 months out...difficulty with food
I am 16 months out, and the past 2 days I am having difficulty with solid foods. Eating any solids is just giving me a stuck, lumpy feeling. I`m not bringing the food up (I haven`t been able to vomit since surgery...not once, not even trying to make myself), its just heavy and painful until the feeling eventually passes. Im tolerating liquids and soft foods fine (ie yogurt, coffee, protein shakes), but food is just really uncomfortable. Im not chewing any less or anything...so I`m a little confused.
Any experienced RNYèrs out there have any suggestions?
Thanks

I'm 4 years out and my pouch is very tight every morning. I call her grouchy pouchy!!!! lol I cant eat dense solid foods till around 11am or so. So I also do yogurt, coffee, portein shake or scrambled eggs.
I wouldn't worry about it too much unless you are in pain. Then I'd call your surgeon asap!
Hope all is well.

Just went through testing (Barium Swallow) and EDD. The radiologist gave me a Barium pill and it got "stuck", thought I had a stricture but when I had my EDD the surgeon told my famuly that I needed to see a gastro dr for more testing as it could be a number of things but they can test and deal with esophageal conditions. I am at 17+ mos out and never had that stuck feeling till now. So call your dr and see whats going on -it is not normal. take care,Brenda
