I came back to  Brooklyn  after  spending the weekend in long island  FREEZING   thanks to my husbands and FIL  persistent use of  60 degree  air conditioning .   I notice Im  BIGGER  because ive been eating ...  particularly around my torso  because im COLD in my innards .   Im wearing ... lierally  an outdoor jacket to bed  .. not to mention  fluffy pants , socks, everything ...  just to EXIST in the house  .

THIS IS NOT  OK !!   How do you guys deal with this  ?  I really  dont  want to live with people that  make me gain weight  ( and the 400  lb stepson who critices me erciless ly and  insults my food and generally makes my life miserable and stressful is a HUGE part of the problem) ... I just  really dont know what t odo .

But i DO know  that if i gain 5  lbs... Ill leave this joker FLAT  lol ... Ive had ENOUGH .

Meanwhile they cant stand it outside  during the day because theyre addictedto the air conditioning .   And now i have a cold thanks to the mold or whatever  nasty it is in that system ...

How horrible...you're freezing..you're abused..all of these things are recipes for overeating...
you know the drill...eating over feelings..etc...not putting yourself first....Just sending you good
vibes ....your life journey is not over and you seem to have another big hurdle to deal with...SEAVIEW

I invested in a new heating and air conditioning system about 2 years ago...we never had central air until then.  Here is what I do...I layer and I play a game with him.  He puts it down to 70 I put it up to 72...he puts it to 70 I put it to 73.  Eventually, it gets left at 72.  Although I hate being cold, I tolerate heat worse- I thought I was dying yesterday (I was out doing a few things in our yard) when it was 92 with extreme humidity.  I didn't feel bad until I hit the AC in the house---then I realized how hot I was out there.  I definitely play the thermostat game---not helpful for our bill but more effective then gaining fat.

I am the queen of the a/c system! My hubby can either strip or bundle up depending on the situation

Don't they know it doesn't pay to make the lady of the house miserable? They need a reminder ;)

One of the many reasons I don't want to live with my boyfriend.  When I was having hot flashes I didn't mind but now when I go to his house and the a/c is on I freeze to death.  Last time it was on I turned it down a bit and his son came by and turned it up.  I would rather be cold then hot, though.  It's a lot easier to get warm then it is to get cool.  Here in Oregon we haven't had many warm days and I am sitting here in my fuzzy bathrobe.

We've already started having 100 degree temperatures in South Texas.  Everyone has air conditioning.  I have to carry a wrap of some sort when I leave the house.

I like the room just a little cool at night.  DH is like a furnace and raises the room temperature just by sleeping.  (Damn men with high metabolisms).  I have a programmable thermostat at home.  We keep it fairly warm in the day time and crank it down to 73 for the sleeping hours.  It is just the two of us.  Fortunately, we don't fight about it.  He lets me have my way.

I can really relate to what you are going through.  Hang in there, but put your foot down and take control.  Don't allow this to interfere with your mind and weight !  My husband is the exact same at times, but I turn into a little green monster and he backs off

Take care

Ours is set on 72 during the day and I have a sweater on. I do like it cooler at night than DH but he can add more covers. I was always the hot one, but not anymore.
I was in a seminar today where everyone was dying they were so hot. I was very comfortable.

Well my hubby likes it cold as well..and I think that is ok, at night when the a/c is on AND the fan is going, I bring my heated blanket to bed turn it on and then cover up with another blanket and cuddle right next to him...and when im just sitting around I use my heated blanket...I have one that is for the lap and I use it allll the time. It is fantastic! I honestly wish I could bring it to work..im totally addicted. As far as the stepson goes I guess I would take it with a grain of salt..you have to do what is right for you, obviously he is very insecure about himself/food choices to be critical as to what you are eating..and personally, I wouldn't allow him to be critical of me in my house.
