RNY and a drain

Hi everyone, I am having my RNY tomorrow (6/2) and I was wondering... does everyone that has the RNY go home with a drain? Dr. never said.

Congratulations! I went home with a drain. It was annoying but not really painful.

I did have one. I had to drink blue dye everyday after surgery for a week or so to look for leaks in drain fluid. But I didn't have any test for leaks after surgery so maybe you get one or the other.

Some dr's put in a drain and some don't. If he didn't mention it my guess is it isn't gonna happen. I had one and it was very irritating. Others it doesn't bother at all. I was relieved when it was removed.
