Still stuck in the hospital (kinda long)
Was all packed and ready to go home and see my babies, had a little time to kill so I decided to walk a lap out on the floor. I must have had less energy than I thought because I started shaking and tingling right when I made it back to my room. Started having pains in my chest along the top of my diaphragm so I sat down on the bed, which made it worse, so I started to lay down. On the way down, the most horribly piercing pain I have ever felt spread across my chest. I couldn't move, I couldn't breathe, and my body clenched up so tight, which lead to a lovely bout of hyperventilation once I could move air.
Luckily the cavalry was right outside my door and heard what little pipsqueek calls for help that I could get out and worked their magic. Surgeon is thinking about sending me for a catscan, but he hopes it was just a muscle spasm. (The same thing happened a couple hours after I made it to my room after surgery) They blamed that one on the excess air in my abdomen. You would think that they could drain some of that out before closing?
Otherwise, I am healthy, just not the picture perfect recovery I was aiming for.

It didnt' happen to me after my gastric bypass but it happened to me after I had another laproscopic abdominal surgery for reflux back in1998. It was the most horrific pain I every had and I screamed for the nursed that I was having a heart attack. I had terrible check pains and it went into my shoulder. I couldn't move or it was worse. They said it was gas pains from the excess that they pump into you in order to see what is going on during the surgery. It takes time for it to exit but the more you walk, the faster it goes away.
Good luck
Good luck
Yikes! I hope it is just gas...while painful, it will eventually go away. Walking helps but two other methods helped me more....rocking my body back & forth (did this every time I sat down, especially on the toilet) and having someone rub my back and rubbing the gas up and out.
Just glad you were still there. Hope you get home today.

Sounds awful and scary! I hope they check you out well and that it was a gas bubble. I had something like that with my recent laparoscopic hysterectomy--terrible feeling.
I hope all goes well today and you get to go home.

Well, yuck. That sounds really scarey. A friend had an complication but her's was on the way home. So at least you were still there and they can really check it out. Here's hoping it's a gas bubble, not that they are fun, but better than something more serious. I'm swinging for you.

Gosh my body's natural gas can be totally uncomfortable
so the pumped in stuff could easily be excruciating . Youd think theyd try to REMOVE it somehow
hope U feel better today . Gas x was a great aid to me .. still is for the natural stuff ...

I'm so sorry!! The gas pains were the worst...I remember posting on here for help because I didn't know what to do....couldn't lay down, couldn't sit, just horribly uncomfortable---but it was only a few days. Sip, walk, rest, sip, walk, rest. Once I was home my DH took me for walks around the block and the fresh air seemed to help too....he made sure to go just in case I passed out!!
