Surgery Delayed

I was booked to have my surgery on June 10th and start my Optifast tomorrow but got a call from Krista this morning rescheduling me until the 15th.  Only 5 days difference but still kinda disappointed.  I could tell from Krista's voice that she didn't want to have to tell me of the delay and she said this was the one part of her job she hated.  I have been so lucky so far with how smoothly and quickly this process has gone that I was able to tell her not to feel badly and things usually happen for a reason.  I think she was relieved that I didn't cry! lol  Oh well, on the bright side I have a few more days to get my gardening done before I start the Opti and have less energy for such things.

Hang tough, Elizabeth. More time in the garden is a good thing.

Sorry they postponed your surgery date. But think that gives you 5 more days you didn't think you had to relax and do anything else you need to get done!

I knowi could have used the time just to prepare meals and freeze.

Believe me the time will fly by.

This will be SUCH old news before you know it!!  Shift gears and forget that the 10th ever had any significance.  :-)  Enjoy your garden!  I never had energy for one until I had my surgery 2/9/11  and now I've got at least 200 containers of veggies & flowers growing out there (started from seed).  I may have to run away from home in a couple of months though as the jungle sqeezes me out.  haha..  Take Care!

I am sorry they had to do that, but you have a great attitude!  You are right about things happening for a reason!

I LOVE your attitude!  I also believe things happen for a reason.  It will happen before you know it!

I love your attitude about it.  Things happen.  My surgery was put off for a week due to scheduling issues.  I just looked at is as an opportunity to get more done and be better prepared for surgery.  I think that week of extra research and just meditation on what I was about to do helped a lot.  In the scheme of things, what is a week?  We've all been battling obesity for so long.  A week is nothing compared to the lifetime of happiness you will have when you are healthier.

The 15th will be here before you know it.  We'll keep the loser's bench warm for you!
