Hello Lightweights!!
Hello and Welcome. I am also a Navy wife of 11 long years. Have 4 children and had my RNY last August. The process if certainly extremely fast so please be sure to do as much research as you possibly can! I started my Journey in May/June 2010 and Had my surgery by Aug 2010. I did do my research and was completely honest with myself about it too... Welcome aboard and anytime you need to chat, we are all here!

I'm in Chesapeake, VA as well. Live in the Great Bridge/Cedar Rd area. Off to NMCP for my first appt, which I'm happy about. I had my son there (emergency C-section, brief stay for him in NICU) and I have always had very positive experiences there.

wow!!! I knew I was going to love this site :)
I used to live off Mt. Pleasant as well!! Hubby is 17 years Navy but we've been lucky to spend a lot of that time in this area. I'm starting to consider myself a Chesapeake native! I attended high school here as well so I'm lucky to know the area.

Hi and welcome to the LW Board.
Good luck on all your pre-op things. I would also suggest that you take this time to really study the different types of surgery to see what will work best for you. Gina(MajorMom) has posted in the past the different types of eating habits that go with the different types of surgeries. It has been very helpful to others.
Can't wait to watch your journey!!
