Your not fat enough

I did tell several people, including one team I work with (but not the other - full of weird gossips on that one). What I did tell the gossipy team was that I required metabolic surgery for several medical issues: osteoarthritis, hypertension, borderline cholesterol, borderline triglycerides, sleep issues, borderline pre-diabetes, and was also having my gall bladder out. It's entirely true, and gets them to stop focusing on "you're doing this to get thin."

After surgery, a couple asked me directly if I'd had a gastric bypass, and I confirmed that that was the metabolic surgery I'd had. Again, that kept it on a health plane rather than a getting thinner plane.

Anyone who told me I wasn't big enough for WLS got the same info: this is metabolic surgery. It is not about the weight loss, although that will be welcome.

Seemed to work - no one has questioned me since.
