So I called my surgeon's office...they are now getting me in for a gallbladder scan as soon as they can.

I know it should be one morning this week.

No, and he didn't remove it during surgery so there was nothing obvious wrong.

He was thinking it was an ulcer and gave me some prescription type antacid similar to Maalox to add to my current PPI. I also stopped taking my NSAIDS, was on a very low dose now anyway for my arthritis pain. (that is why I got the DS so I could take NSAIDS).

But another attack in just a week, they want to be sure.

My GB looked healthy---then 2-3 weeks out I started to feel like someone ran me over, tired, sick to my 'stomach', barely could tolerate food or water.  I was hospitalized a bunch of times for dehydration.  Scan of my GB looked normal, no stones, etc.  Then they did a nuclear study---GB looked 'okay' maybe a tad sluggish to squeeze (I watched it one the screen as I was vomiting contrast (they tried to force me to drink more then I could handle as a new post op)---fun!.  They decided to take it out...once I was awake and alert I knew I felt better.  GB are sneaky.  Good luck and I sure hope you get relief soon.

Ohhhhh, I am so glad I had mine out the first time I lost weight (well, a bunch of weight).  Except back then it was open and lap would have been better.  Hope you get it taken care of soon.

Sorry to hear that Liz! I don't know why they just don't remove them while they are doing the surgery..luckily mine was removed before I had the surgery but both my mom and my husband had to have their's removed after they had wls..
