Good Morning. Making blueberry pancakes this morning...
Weekends are my days to go a little off my routine, so y'all will just have to look the other way while I eat some carby stuff. I don't know if any of you have trouble with white flour causing gas but I find that gluten-free products help me deal with that. Now understand that the first 6 months post-op I was a total carb Nazi and kept them well below 50 grams a day. Now, I can have some and the scale hasn't been affected but I know this too shall pass and I'll have to be more diligent. In my case, I think the years between 5 and 10 are the most risky for regain, so I will be careful. Y'all hold me to that, ok?
The guys are going to play golf this morning and I have nothing planned. Maybe I can get Son#2 to get a couple of movies lined up on the DVD player. Lord knows I can't figure it out for myself. lol It's good to have a 20-something in the house to help with the gadgets.
Well, it's good to see we all survived the prematurely predicted end of the world. Y'all have a great day. Don't see how that was going to happen anyway...hubby has a tee time this morning.

I had to pull a "totally off routine" to get me going again...been stopped up most of the week, so when we were at the grocery store the other day, I got a couple of donuts...it works. Thankfully, donuts aren't one of my trigger foods...I can take or leave them. But read that little trick somewhere on the DS board. I think it only works for DS'ers tho????
We all need a day every so often to go off routine or this becomes just another diet.

I do agree with living life and keeping this from being just another diet. I certainly don't want to be on a diet for the rest of my life. And I don't feel like I am on one now.
OT, a good friend had a carriage driving accident Friday afternoon. She broke her femur near the hip and wrist. They have moved her to a bigger hospital and will be doing surgery this morning. She's a big girl and recovery won't be easy. She will possibly be in rehab for a few weeks. This is the family I stay with when I go to SC to drive and who took such good care of me when I had my amnesia episode. Please be swinging for her.

Yeap, donuts...the white flour and sugar in them basically acts as a laxative to most DS'ers...figured I'd try it out to see if it helped and it did.
BUT I can't use that as an excuse to have them all the time.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's accident. Please let her now we are all thinking of her and hoping she will make a full and quick recovery.

Aww... backatcha, babeee. This wasn't meant to be an "in your face" kind of post. If it makes you feel any better, I burned my thumb on the bacon grease taking it out of the oven.

Nah ... we all have to learn to live with the surgery we chose ..or finagle a more appropriate one if were desperate enough . Sticking our heads in the sand and PRETENDING aint gonna make things copacetic lol !
I actually was afraid of the DS because of the high fat eating requirement ( the way I understood it ) ... maybe I didnt research it enough . Just as U can live w/out bread I can certainly ( and happily ) live without chicken skin and bacon and fried things lol ...
but more power to U GRRLS .. ENJOY !!!
By the way I make bacon by baking it all the time. I love it. No muss, no fuss, and best of all, no popping grease burning my fingers.
