NSV at the Gym

My favorite NSV to date!  I go to a gym where the mostly male clients are serious athletes (bodybuilders, wrestlers, marathoners).  These dedicated people have incredible bodies.  I was pretty intimidated at first but I have hung in because of my wonderful trainer.

During my session this week, one of the regulars was chatting with my trainer.  He then turned to me and said "you are looking great."  It was first time anyone at the gym had acknowledged my progress.  I thanked him and got back to my crunches.  As I was walking away, he said, "you are tough, you know."  Me, tough?  He said, "you just killed those crunches."   I made it a joke, told him not to tell my trainer.

When I started at the gym, I could barely fit into the machines.  I am so glad that I have stuck with it.  What a difference!  I've been feeling fit all day.

I hope this NSV serves as inspiration to those of you who are dreading the return to the gym. It is all about showing up!

Good for you!!!

I have been going to the gym since last June when I was at my highest weight....it was hard at first but worth it.  I am now working on my first physical goal....to run a mile.  I have never been able to run a mile....last week I jogged for 10 minutes and was so pleased with myself...I am getting closer and to closer to this NSV.  My goals are all physical......when I achieve them I will know I have met goal.

Good luck to you!

p.s. I mowed the lawn this morning...last summer I could do this but it was a challenge....now the only thing I worry about is will the damn thing start!!!!

Amy, Congratulations!!! That is what is all about. Keep up the good work!!!! Great NSV!!

When I first started at the gym, back in December, I was so weak and couldn't do one sit-up or push-up. Last Friday, my trainer said that she was impressed with how far I have come in the past few months.

Although I will take a compliment from anyone, it is really nice when they come from someone who understands the work that goes into getting there.

Congrats
