Surgery probably in July!
Hi,
It's been awhile since I've posted. I've had my preops and they were fine. I am still so scared for surgery. I am going to meet with the medical bariatric doctor as well just to see my options there. My daughters (adults) are not very supportive about my having surgery.
Anyway, surgeon is to give me a date in July as I'm taking graduate classes and that works best for me.
Just wanted to check in and say HI.

Do you have classes or support meetings that you can take your daughters too. That may help them understand. My sister was very cautions but came around. It is nice to have their support but we will be here to support you one way or the other.
July is a great month for surgery. Any month is.

They're just concerned about you and they are also concerned about how you may change when you lose weight. You know you won't, but kids don't like to see their parents change, no matter what the reason...
Congrats on your surgery in July!

Hi Lynn,
I think most of us were a little scared because it is major surgery. My DH was not as supportive at first, he went with me to a seminar that the surgeon held and it really helped him to get on board. He also went with me to the surgeon's first appointment and asked all the questions he wanted to.
Good luck and keep us posted.

My story is a repeat of Linda's. My hubby went with me to the Informational Meeting, to my first meeting with the surgeon, and to my first support group meeting. After that, he knew it was all good and he supports me, period. LOL Two of my sisters were very excited for me. We all 3 agreed not to discuss it with my brother because he would be judgemental. I felt that was one of the most supportive things they could have ever done. You will all work it out and sometimes the proof is in the puddin' and they just have to wait and see for themselves.
