need salty, low cal snack

I'm craving salty snacks especially at night. Saltine crackers [can you believe it?!} can be my downfall.

Any suggestions for a salty snack that will satisfy the craving but not add on a bunch of calories??

Thanks everyone!

My go to meal when I need a flavorful, salty food is nuked pepperoni.  Put the pepperoni between layers of paper towel in the microwave and nuke for about 1 min.  The oil goes into the towels and the slices come out like chips.  No carbs, reduced fat, protein.  Really good.
My plan allows 4-5 meals a day, no snacks.  I think using the "snack" word has bad implications since "snack" food or "snacking" is part of what may have let to us being fat in the first place.

air popped  popcorn  Baybee  -  you can have  a whole POTFUL  for a couple hundred calories and snack on it for HOURS  ...

how to make it the TASTIEST

buy an air popper  from wal mart  (  dont use oil and dont use microwaveable anything  - they are FATTENING !!!!!  )

organic  popcorn  is  really  cheap and just as good as Orville  but any  plain bagged popcorn will do in a pinch .... orville redenbacher  is mad expensive but very tasty  .

while Ure in the grocery store  buy some  fatfree  popcorn flavorings  : butter buds ,  parmesan garlic  popcon seasoning ,  white cheddar  popcorn seasoning  etc....   theyre all good  except the kettle corn which is sugary  ( but delicious )

to make it the BEST  ...  toast  the corn in a skillet FIRST .  that  means brown it on high  without popping it  (  takes some skill  )  .   you can do a lot ...   then put it aside and  feed  off of it for weeks .   It gives the popcorn a nice nutty taste .

then run it through ur air popper  ,  add  the popcorn flavoring  (  or put the flavoring in  a separate bowl ...  lick ur kernel , dip in the flavoring and savor )   See gives U hours of munching fun  before theTV ... and t astes better than cheezits  !

And best yet .... U DONT  wear it on UR waist the next morning   ..  ( ok its high salt so U retain a little water  but that comes off  the very next  day ...  )

That (the pepperoni) is exactly what I was going to suggest.  The pepperoni come out real crunchy, which is what I crave!  I live to crunch!

as  far as pepperoni  taste  goes U CAN do it fat free pork free vegan  and kosher ...  with  Vegan  pepperoni  from the produce section  which is less than one gram of fat  per serving ...

and obscenely good ....

not made out of pig parts either

Beef jerky!  Salty and tons of protein.  Some kinds are fairly low calorie - just check the label.

Check out Kay's Naturals snacks. I love the white cheddar chips - salty and crunchy. Also, 10 grams of protein.

Love Jerky!!!!   I also take a piece of American Cheese (or any kind) and I cut it up into really little pieces, put it on a piece of parchment paper, place in microwave and nuke until crisp and slightly brown...doesn't take long....YUM.   I'm also a popcorn eater but I use the mini microwave bags (plain).
