I have had some difficulty swallowing , both food and drink, felt like it got stuck. I had a Barium Swallow yesterday and the radiologist gave me a Barium "pill" to swallow, it stuck right at the end of the esophagus/stoma area. I am having a EDD? Friday, Has anyone had a similar experience?
thanking you in advance for any advice, etc.

I haven't, but have read about them here quite a bit. If you do have one, they usually stretch the area during a scope. Normally, once is enough but sometimes it takes 2. I hope they can get you sorted out ASAP. Please keep us posted.

Good luck Friday Brenda.  I haven't heard of them this far out either.  I've read about them early out and it sounds like they just stretch the opening and sometimes it takes more than once.

My DH goes about once a year and has his esophagus stretched.  He didn't have WLS but he has trouble with food sticking.  Shredded things like roast beef are the worst.  He usually waits until soft foods start getting stuck before I can talk him into going.

God is walking with me every step of the way. Because of HIM this is possible!!

I had a stricture at 1 year out. Had a hard time with foods going down and having to come up. My Dr. went down with the scope; stretched a little and I haven't had a problem since. The procedure isn't bad at all. They knocked me out and a hour later I woke up to my hubby and home we went. Strictures are horriable! I lived with mine for sometime because I thought that was how it was suppose to be. (Trouble eating,Throwing up) My problem was every meal felt like I was dying and Then I'd throw it up! Good Luck to you on friday. Keep us posted!
