I just read  something disturbing -  that most peoples  lowest weight post WLS is 24  months post ...

that would be almost  right now for me.   Not that  I don't  LIKE  my body right now but I sure would like it a lot more  maintaining  a camera  ready weight 15  lbs lighter lol ...

I sure hope my body  isn't turning on me     (  sorry to express my paranoia  but I have  a LIFETIME   of experience with unwanted regain  or  a body that simply refuses  to lose  )

Oldtimers and successful maintainers  could U please share Ur experience on this subject ?   thanks

Also  am I likely to get more  or less defined  in the coming year  .. what hormonal fluctuations can I expect   and what did U DO about  any difficulties U encountered at this point  (  if U did )  and how did they help ...  thanks !  !

I dont know if this isnt helpful because of surgical differences and/or because of how I "chose" my goal point - but no.  This isnt my lowest, but its about 2 pounds from it.

But again, some points that probably greatly factor in

*I didnt let my body decide where it wanted to stop, I said "I will stop at this size and now switch to building muscle for this lovely skin to drape over
* I am not an intuative eater.  I use a program that I plug cals in and exercise out and tell it I want to weigh 5 Lbs less than I do in 2 years - that's my maintenance program.  :}  I dont *really* care to weigh that, it just keeps me on an even keel and then the program doesnt fuss at me for my regular 2-5 pound flux.
*I get my body composition checked and I have less FAT on me than I did at points past, I would bet - but as far as weight?  Nah, I am not the lightest, leanest?  Possibly, lightest?  No.

I think the "am I likely to get" questions are going to be best answered by you and what you want!

Ummm.  That's all I think!

Mine was from 15 months out to 25 months out - then the "rebound" began.

From 15 months to 20 months I was still in my "honeymoon" period - and BAM - I could tell when it was over!! What a rude awakening and shock....

SO - its the part of me that thought I was already out of the honeymoon period and was doing just fine after that, and that's when it called me out, took me aside and gave me quite the thrashing.. so... I'm trying to get rid of those pesky "bounce back" pounds....

HW-218/SW-208/CW-126/ Lowest Weight-121/Goal-125 - hit 8/23/09/Height-5'3"

Regain 30 lbs from 2012 to 2016 - got back on track and lost it.  Took 8 months.
90+/- pounds lost
BMI - 24 or so
Starting BMI between 35 and 40ish?

I can say that with my first WLS I did hit my lowest weight at almost exactly 2 years post op and then almost immediately started regaining.  Very slowly at first but at the end it was piling on.
I now weigh what I did at 2 years post op with my first surgery.  I don't think I will lose any more.  I realize that maintaining is going to be a challenge.  My feeling though is that you can lose weight at any time, even years after WLS.  When I was about 5 or 6 years post op with my first surgery I decided I needed to lose the weight I had regained.  I  cut out refined carbs and snacking and just had 3 meals a day with nothing in between.  I managed to lose about 35 or 40 lbs although it was very slow, much slower then it had been the first time, and my weight loss stopped at about 150lbs no matter what I did.  That was fine with me, though.  I would have been fine, too, if I didn't go back to the refined carbs and snacking.

Thanks  guys  .  Rny  is an interesting surgery  with its  built in vulnerability to carbs and long term reactive hypoglycemia induced insulin swings that make U crave em due to the lack of pyloric valve.... ....

I suspect a certain amount of regain almost goes with the territory for rnyers .
