Update: Good Morning. What's on you to-do list this week?

Catch up on bills and paperwork. Research costs of assisted living for my mom. Follow up with (harass) the workmen who have still not finished the porch. Fun week!

Gina, I sure hope your contract extention works out so you won't have to move now!!

We have a board meeting Thursday night so most of this week will be getting ready for that.  I'm so far behind at work.  Not having a cleaning crew is requiring extra work on our part in the mornings.  Hopefully we can hire someone next week.

I have a doctors appointment in the morning with my PCP.  I can't wait to see my regular 3 month lab results to see how my cholesterol is with no medicine in 3 months.

Tonight is already shot.

Tomorrow, spending my lunch time taking skirts and pants to the seamstress. She'll tell me what she can take in and what she can't.   Dinner with a friend tomorrow night.  In between I'll try and get some work done. Studying tomorrow night (Sun, Tues, and Thurs nights) for my final certification. 

Wednesday is my birthday, lunch with girlfriends at the Japanese steakhouse. SASHIMI YUM! Waiting to see what DH has in store. He's been doin nice lately.  Have I said how much I love my husband?  In a conspicious spot, I propped up a brochure for a B&B in Leesburg VA (where Majormom and Cheryl and I had lunch Satuday).  Tonight he asked me how you get to Leesburg.  Birthday presents can come from birthday to the following Sunday, so I will wait and see.

Well I've been AWOL  because on  Friday was the last day to put in for the tax appeal  on the new house we have under contract .    I found out Id have to argue the case myself in front of a tax board the following Tuesday with mucho documentation and comparables so ive been getting ready .   

Then this morning  Hubs throws me the ultimate monkey wrench saying his current home is in the same district and this is the last day to appeal for the year  (  two hours before the comissioners arrived lol ! )  - no comparables , no photos  no NOTHING mind U  ... but a twelve thousand dollar tax  bill the    has been  paying  without protest  every year for he last twenty years  when his neighbors pay 6  at the most  !!  


So of course homegirl  had to get busy  FAST ....

Hubs  naturally did not cooperate  ( have I mentioned MONKEY  on a Computer ... Howler Monkey etc  ...   ..  yep  he actually  YELLED  at me all the way to the hearing ( s )  for being a, insufferable  B.....  while here  I am desperately scrambling to save the fool twenty thousand dollars  a year ...   

Anyway .. when we were  there he was suitably  dumbstruck    at the B 's skillz    .  

We'll see how we do  .. but the head tax assesor said  " nice presentation "  pn the way out ... .

So this and digging ditches in the never ending rain was MY  weekend (  oh and shifting  10 cubic  yards  of  topsoil (  literally a dumptruck full )  singlehandedly  to the back of the yard  ( filling in the new  125  foot retaining wall)  wheelbarrow by wheelbarrow  before the rain turned it to a MUDSLIDE ...   lol - and before the president of the  HOA  came to reinspect what the heck we were doing illegal construction wise lol ...

ever try to make a new landscape  look like it ALWAYS lived there ?   The things we do to  amuse ourselves in NY  !!

I'm going to try to find a job. But not too hard. I'm enjoying taking some time off.
