counseling update
Some of you know that I started counseling with a grad student at school because I desperately needed to get in control of my eating disorder. I've been going for about 3 months and today was our last session since the semester ends next week. At the end of our session she started crying and told me that I changed her life and that she was a better person for knowing me and felt so honored that I let her into my life. They are required to write a huge paper on one of their clients and she balled her eyes out even more when she told me she wrote it on me and how much a grew as a person in such a short time and how she thought I was so courageous for getting control of my life. I didn't realize until she said these things that I have grown so much and my eating disorder is getting more under control every day. If anyone is even considering counseling I would highly recommend it...it chnaged my life and I feel so blessed to have had this opportunity! It also reminded me of how helpful everyone on this board is as so many people here have helped with my positive growth.

I'm so glad the 2 of you hit it off and made such a positive impact on each other. Proud of you Rebecca.

Counseling is hard work and good for you in undertaking it and making the most of it. Glad it was positive for both of you.

The hardest session for me was the very last one. The one that I had decided would never come. The one where my therapist had to tell me that I'd come far enough, and learned enough coping skills, that I didn't need to come see her anymore. At the end, I gave her a big hug and thanked her from the bottom of my heart. Then I bawled like a baby all the way home.
But she was right. :-)
Therapy is good stuff! :-D
