I've started packing and so used to packing my vitamins. I thought about it tonight
Am I even going to be able to take them for several days after I have my resleeve?

I've would think I'd at least be able to take my chewables?

Thanks
Pam

I took powdered Vits with me but found the concentration too much to handle that early on.  It was better to just eat what the hospital gave me and wait the wee****il I hit pureed to start my vitamins.  That's the usual plan for most WLS's.

Good luck and swingin' geckos in Arizona for ya Pam!!   It's exciting!

Thank you, yep remembered that I wasn't supposed to take vitamins that first weeks after DS.
I think it took me 3 weeks before I could get them down. Lol

What a little time will erase from my memory!

Thank you! I Didn't even think about asking. Guess I'll just pack them and leave them at hotel if I'm told no Tuesday.

My surgeon says to start the vitamins around the 3-7th day post op. I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, if the hospital wants you to have vitamins, they will probably give them to you.

Good luck on your surgery!!

Yep, take them with you. I'm guessing you'll be starting slowly the day after you're released with your multi, calcium, and D3. The ASBMS recommends DSrs start vitamins (chewables or capsules) immediately and that's what our program suggested when I was a newbie as well.  The good thing about calcium and D3 is you can dump them into shakes and won't taste them. Also remember you might be lactose intolerant at first.

Thanks going to pack vitamins with me whether I get to take them all or not. It's become a habit to reach for them.

Hadn't thought about lactose intolerance. Didn't have it before but another surgery ? Hmmm
I'll be keeping that in mind.

Hope everyone has a great day.

We started vits after our first visit and got the drain out.  So at 7-10 days.

I'm not looking forward to having a drain, ugh! I had 2 with my DS.

Going to take vites with me and hopefully I can take at least the chewables.

Out trying to take care of last minute details. Sitting and waiting on vehicle service!
