Update on Dtr

She arrived home today from her inpatient stay.  No new medications--actually off almost all because she contracted mono...and they couldn't medicate her because her liver is inflamed from the the virus.  So we are hoping we can get meds back on board before she flares with her moods or behaviors.  My respite is done (that's what it felt like)---I am scared to death.  Keep us in your thoughts.  Another issue of course is that she was denied to a school that I tried to get her into.  So now we have more decisions to make...unfortunately she has now learned that her next step is definitely foster care if she can not be a successful member of this family.  She says she understands---I certainly hope she gets it.  I also explained to her that anyone that has ever laid a hand on me has never returned to my home---so because I care so much for her I allowed her a second chance---but there will not be another chance- we have a 0 tolerance for physical aggression from that moment on.  We did get her new comforter and organized her room, allowed her to have all her things back...laid out clear rules for using the items, and having her freedoms.  She was thrilled, we explained she has a clean slate and we are working hard to forgive her for the pain she has caused---she needs to be happy and responsible- and accomplish what needs to be done.  Thanks for the kind words before---that is why I thought I would give the update.  Tomorrow she goes to the Dr to learn when she can return to school--because of the mono.  Oh- and I also made her call her boyfriend and explain she had mono---and to tell him he has it or has been exposed. LOL Ugh teens!

I am so glad that things are starting to look up for you. Good Demands, no family should deal with issues like those. In fact I can relate to alot of what you have written. If you want to talk, I am here!

(((HUGS)))

I know what you are going through and I'm happy that things are better for your family.  My DD is now 32 and the mother of 3.   She is still in counceling because she has trouble dealing when she is in a relationship but fortunately for me I'm not the one who has to deal with it any more.  She is constantly telling me how sorry she is for what she put me through.

She is going through a self-help program to help her deal with her 11 yr. old so they don't have the same problems we had.

Tough love is hard but sometimes for the well being of your family and yourself you have to use it.
