2 weeks out tomorrow.... I have pulled something in my shoulder. I think I did it while in the hospital hoisting myself up in the bed... just could not get comfy!!! I have intermittent pain -- -seems like it mostly hits while I'm cooking for my family??? Odd, huh???

Did anyone else have anything like this??? I think I need to call my PCP tomorrow.

I have not experienced this but a friend of mine who had gastric bypass surgery experienced shoulder pain and discovered this was gas pain.  She experienced this at times when eating especially when eating too fast.

Not sure if this could at all be related to what you are experiencing but hope you feel better soon!

My surgeon gave me the "RCA Dog Look" when I asked about trapped gas as well. Informed me it didn't exist, not posible. I almost LOL in his face cause having BEEN thru other lap procedures, I knew it did.

My surgeon obviously has never had surgery himself!

Believe it or not it might be trapped gas left over from surgery when they pumped you up for the laparoscopic procedure. Or, they could have pulled you when they were settling you on the operating room table.

I never thought about in the operating room! Makes sense to me. I was not one of the folks who walked into the room and remembers it...last thing I remember is "take a couple deep breaths" of this toxic smelling stuff!!!

Thanks, Gina.

I had a lot of back pain when I got home.  I think it was from the angle they put you on while on the operating table.  I have also in the past had trapped gas and that could be it too.

I could not get comfortable in that bed at night either! I may try some more Gas X to see how that goes...

Thanks, Price!

I had shoulder pain that was gas.  I thought I hurt myself sitting funny in the recliner, went to the chiropractor twice then it was ok, BUT - I know what he did wouldn't have done anything to my shoulder.  Then I read here that gas settles in the shoulder/shoulder blade.

Just do some upper body - neck/back/shoulder stretching.

i had bad shoulder gas pain the first three days.  But about a week later, the pain in my lower back kinda radiated to my shoulder, and since I had a surgeon's appt that first week, I asked him.

He said, and this makes sense, that they put us on a hard board, and don't really know if we're aligned properly when they "arrange" our bodies for surgery..  Since we're in that position on a hard surface for 45 to 90 minutes or longer, that can aggravate our  muscles or spine.

I used a heat/ice pack and that helped.  But really, I didn't feel totally better til I got the all clear to take a bath.  I poured 12 cups of epsom salts and 3 cups of dead sea salts into my whirlpool tub, added a few drops of peppermint, thyme, basil, and thieves oils, and sat there til the water got cold.   Felt entirely like a new woman.
