My first illness since my wls.....blahhhh
Bless your heart! It sounds like you have a good old fashioned virus!
I vomit (basically just gag up whatever is irritating my stomach) and I dry heave occasionally....sometimes just from my chewable vitamins. Luckily, I RARELY have ever gotten viruses.....If I do get them it usually involves diarhea....not vomiting (I don't know if that's better or worse!)
Feel Better!!!

I also have not thrown up since surgery - I've wanted to, but didn't and couldn't. Just foamies and spit is the best I could do. Not because I was sick, but because I ate too much or too fast.
I had surgery 10/08 and JUST got sick for the first time this year - and it happened twice! Wasn't a stomach bug though.
There was a study done about D and how it kept people from getting sick - you know, I do believe it now. I was taking 5K of Dry D3 every day - my D was high so I cut it down to 50K once a week... and forgot it some weeks. Then I got sick.
I've reintroduced the 5K/daily and cut out the 50K. I'm monitoring my sicky factor to see when I get sick again and if there is any correlation.

Not being able to actually vomit is common after RNY I know. I usually can only get up foam or spit, unless I have eaten something within the last 5 minutes or so...otherwise it isn't coming out no matter how much I want it out (like one bite too much and it hurts). I hate to vomit, I still hate the motions of it--but usually even after the foamies I start to feel better. The only time I actually vomited was when my husband made me protein shakes and made me take MOM one day...The MOM actually went over the sink and all over the curtains. Ewww. LOL I tried to tell him it wouldn't stay but he insisted.
Guess I was right.
Guess I was right.
I'm a sleevie, and I've had two experiences now that prove....
I can't vomit either.
seems like I don't have enough air or water or something to give my stomach contents the force to fountain out. It come out more like toothpaste out of the tube. But I mean, how much momentum can one have to puke 2 oz out of a tube the size of a sharpie.
Thinking of how it came out, I am reminded of owl regurgitation pellets.
seriously folks. owl puke.
