Good Morning. What I got for Mother's Day

Son#2 made me something for Mother's Day in his Metals Class. It's a fancy dog tag with a note on the back that says, "my mom wears combat boots".  lol  That's the same message that was on the boys' matching T-shirts when they were little. This gift was in addition to flowers and raw meat. We grilled out after we got home yesterday evening. It was a loooong ride but I found the right tilt back position for the passenger seat to relieve my poor skinny butt and tail bone.

Did you guys get or do anything special?

Lovely cards, a call from DD and taken out to brunch.  There is a message waiting for me to schedule.  Never done one but I think it sounds pretty great.

The dog tag reminded me.  Anyone using medic alert braclets or tags?  I need to order something.  Actually I should have long before surgery just in case one of my ponies and I went in opposite directions.  And after my amnesia episode, I thought again about the need for something.  Luckily when that happened I was with friends who knew exactly what to do and about the surgery.  One had RNY about 2 yrs ago.  Ideas?

Yes- I have a medical alert bracelet.  Mine is beaded so it looks like an everyday piece of jewelry..but there is a tag that has my name on one side with the medical alert symbol and the following...NSAID allergy, No blind NG tube, No blind scope, Diabetic / RNY.  They have lots of really nice options now.

Oh- and I had a busy Mothers Day---got a beautiful mother and child necklace (and the necklace fits that it came on!), cards, and lots of love from my lil girls.  I also got a Happy Mothers day from my 20 year old- I think it is the first he has ever said it on his own accord since he lived with us.   And my teen dtr is still away---but she made me a card.

There are several on my other FB forum who have medic alert bracelets. In fact they made them themselves, I will add you to our group (you can delete yourself afterward) and you can browse through the documents. If you would like.

Do we really need a medic alert bracelet? If so I have a lifelong membership and will just order one.

As far as yesterday goes, I had a great day. DS# 3&4 had DH make breakfast for me in bed and instead of it beinf pancakes, pork bacon (smathered in grease) eggs over easy with oodles of butter and a bowl of fruit, of which I would eat the ENTIRE thing... I had 1 scrambled egg with green onion and 3 bites of turkey sausage..They put a cheese stick and greek yogurt on the plate also but it went back in the fridge....Those younguns are so thoughtful!
We then headed to the Navy Exchange for a bit and other places. Took me to my favorite mexican restaurant for dinner, Was a  very good day...

I also had a good Mother's Day...I didn't cook most of dinner, but I did cook/heat the veggies that went with the meat. Called both my Mother in Law and my Stepmother and my youngest stepdaughter wished me a happy Mother's Day. (My Mother died in 2002 and heaven doesn't have a phone  But I was thinking about her all day.) My youngest treats me as her mom, she lived with us from the time we got married til she moved out on her own.

Reference Medic Alert: I've been a member since 1982 so all I did was update my info. Nothing else has changed that is ON my tag. This is the necklace I use (hate bracelets when I am typing). As far as why I use MedicAlert over any other medical bracelet/necklace out there is that MedicAlert has the backup on duty 24/7/365 in case of emergency. Anyone who has anything different, an allergy, a special condition, or with us, WLS needs one.

For RNY'ers you need to specify a "blind stomach" and allergy to NSAIDS. Using the word "allergy" keeps hosptials/medical from overriding the "I can't take them because of my WLS".

My .02 cents worth, LOL.

I had a great weekend.  Sunday DH took me to the outlet mall and bought me some new clothes.  It was a fun shopping spree, but I had to overcome some head issues.  It is more fun to shop when cute clothes actually fit, but still not my favorite activity.  DH is a really good shopper.  He had a ball.

Good Morning everyone!

I had a great day.  Hubby and son bought me a purple orchid along with a dozen roses and beautiful cards.  In addition, since I do not really need anything at the moment Hubby is paying to have my engagement ring and 2 anniversary bands re sized so that I can actually wear them again.  I figured at this stage I am near goal and fingers won't change that much more.  I did however go from a 10 - a 7.5!     I  WFH on Monday and Friday during the summer so I didn't need any new clothes..I am trying to get by on the less is best mentality, It sickened me to see all of the clothes I gave again as the pounds were coming off.  I am trying to get by now and only 3 days in the office helps (Unless of course I get that new job!).

Anyway, hope you all have a good day, it looks to be bright ans sunny here!

I got a Pandora bead for my bracelet from my kids, a card from my daughter, a plant from Tom.

I was on a motorcycle trip this weekend and it turned out very nice (weather).  Got home about 1pm and cleaned my bike...  found I have a fork seal leaking, have to take it to the shop...oh well.

Had Tom's kids and Mom over for dinner.  My kids both had to work.

I got a gift card so I can go and do my favorite new thing - buy clothes!!!  My kids always ask what I want and I don't mind telling them.  I probably need to look for some better shoes to walk/jog in instead of clothes.

I cooked and everyone came to my house for Mother's day.  We had a great afternoon.  The DGD's had a good time playing with each other.
