Price, I am 6 years out.  My lowest weight was 125 for about five minutes.  I weighed 136 this morning.  Really, I like weighing less, and I plan to start working on getting a few pounds off.  I wear a 12 (some 10's.)  I am 5'1" and 66 years old.  I am a large frame.

I think 20 pounds is not normal.

Thanks.  That gives me hope that it doesn't have to be.

Actually, what I heard was about 10%, so if you lose 100 lbs you may, and I said may, regain 10 lbs.  If you lose 200 lbs you may regain 20 lbs.  I personally don't think regain is mandatory but something we should have at least some control over.

So I guess, past bounce back of 5-10, more weight gain is up to the person.  I know it is "normal" to add some weight as we age but I think one of my goals will be to limit that and stick withing a range.  I guess the range will depend on how low I go.  I just know that 20lbs is almost 1/4 of what I have lost so far and I certainly don't want that back in 3 yrs.

I  think  a lot of it has to do with how U lost the weight Price whether it was a "diet "  or a real lifestyle  change ... because few people keep  up a diet forever ..

also  other factors like whether U had liposuction and/or PS and  got rid of the empty fat cells and the " feed me " and "fill me up" hormones they put out  to keep themselves in place ...

whether  U still exercise regularly

whether U los t the weight through dietary restriction alone or  with the help of exercise  and so built calorie burning  muscle ...

whether  Ure basically  healthy  satisfied and  happy or in low level physical or emotional pain and may be medicating that with excess food ...

All very good points and well taken.

I agree, lifestyle change is what it is all about in the long run.  With exercise to build and keep burning calories.

I look at it this way Price.....I think that it is normal to allow for up to 10lbs of "bounce back" as a LW...heck I fluctuate up and down the same 5 - 10 lbs all the time.....I still feel good at 160....I NEVER want to see that number on my scale again tho.....so when I see 155 I make a mental note to slow down on the poor food choices.  I told myself when I had surgery that I was still going to enjoy food and I do but I will NEVER let my enjoyment of CRAP land me above the 150's ever again.  We all slip and fall....what matters is if we get back up again or lay down and die.....LOL
