I am going on a 3 month mission to Nicaragua February 2012 and during my run this morning I was trying to think about how I was going to fund my mission trip.

I decided I am going to run/walk/bike the mileage from my home to Nicaragua. It is 3553km as the crow flies and that would make it about 13k a day for me to travel. So I guess I'll have to start my marathon training quickly after my 10k is done.

I have always liked that when I have a plan to do something I can manage to complete the plan, but I have never undertaken this big a project all on my own before. I know I can do it.

If you feel so inclined, you are welcome to sponsor me, if not please pray or think well of my journey.
Thanks
Price S.

13K a day is a big committment.  i'm swinging for you.

You are right, set a goal, and you can reach it.  Otherwise, you tend to run in circles.

Thanks Price. I chose adding walking and riding a bike to the exercise because I figure I won't be so tired if I add these in. It'll be these first couple weeks that will be tiring because of the increase in workout and because I am taking care of my 2 and 4 year old grandchildren. The 5k run this morning was easy, the 4k walk this afternoon was tiring with pushing a stroller. Tonight after the kids go to bed I'll get the last walk in.

I think I'll quickly lose this last 3 pounds for my first goal of losing 100 pounds.
