Seriously??
OKay so I went to the doctor today..not my surgeon just my regular doctor and she was irritated that I lost 5 pounds since I saw her last month! I reminded her that I DID have gastric bypass less than a year ago and she acted like I shouldn't be loosing that much weight after 9 months..I think it is right on target has anyone else gotten this?? It kind of irritated me because she said that we will have to watch my weight loss carefully..
She doesn't understand the surgery.
I lost about 1-2 pounds a week and 6-8 lb. a month right up until I decided I to stop and started upping my calories. Everyone was fine with it.

Are you still in the normal BMI range??? The low end of it??? I know my PCP wanted me at the upper end because of my age but I haven't seen her since I started getting close to that.
On the other hand, I DO watch my weight loss carefully, VERY carefully to be sure I am STILL losing.
Can't please them when you are fat, can't please them when you are thin.

I am still overweight actually! My goal is 140 which is actually the higher end for my height of 5'5 but I have big hips so that weight looks good on me..i've been there before and I know I can maintain there...I take ADD medicine and she is worried that it is causing me to loose to quickly..she just doesn't get it..she even threatened to take me off my medicine..needless to say I convinced her not to not sure if she was just in a mood or what but geeze get a grip doctor!
Doctors AND nurses are too funny!! You just can't win for losing!! Pardon the pun(teehee) I actually went to my doc's office today too and, of course, I had to get weighed. Evrey time I've gone since I've gotten the surgery, I have lost weight. Well, this time I actually gained 2 lbs. I'm not worried about it because I know it'll come off, plus 10. in a couple of weeks, but the look on her face!!! I stood there and stood there with her having this look on her face like she was afraid to tell me!! She finally did and I told her it was no big deal. She looked so relieved!!
I haven't seen my pcp since pre-surgery, but plan on seeing her sometime in June to retest for my hypo-thyroid. I am assuming she will be totally on board with my weight (loss)... She is a fitness freak, and lives what she preaches so we will see...
When I had my 6 month post-op follow up(last week), it was difficult for me to comprehend the surgeon "encouraging" me to continue losing for as long as my body wants. Mainly because I am a few pounds away from my "ideal" weight.
I guess what he said makes sense, in that at the hooneymoon stage I should fully take advantage of it, and once it ends, he said a regain of 10 pounds is average... Gotta admit, I am not going to like that, so I am just keeping an eye on myself. It's one day at a time for me!
I am curious what your surgeons office thinks of your progress? That is who I will listen to I think...

So far the surgeons staff has been happy...the surgeon wanted me to be at 150 but I know I can do better than that..I actually don't go bac****il August I was really hoping to be at my ideal weight by then but I don't know with my other doctor threatening to take me off my pills and everything...I don't think im going to do anything different though im just going to let the weight come off as it should..
