Yes we've been trying to buy a marital home since - get this - last JULY !! basically everything that can possibly go wrong HAS and a LOT Of it just had to do with my husband's horrible track record of late payments and over -borrowing .
But its very important that we have a home we can live in together ( his current home is a toxic wasteland where I can't even BREATHE ) ..and his nearly eighty year old newly widowed Father can come live with us .
At first my husband( then fiance) tried to hide all this stuff from me and handle it himself with the help of the issuing bank but of course he couldn't ... it took a real weasel dealer like myself to get it done. In January I finally took the situation in hand and re-applied for a mortgage repackaging us to look as good as possible FIRST ... and we got a great rate . Oh and I cleaned up a few things on hubby's credit record which was a bottom line necessity .
Then my husband in his great wisdom made a 30 day late mortgage payment right before we were about to close which totally stopped the whole deal in its tracks . Because he has OTHER lates this year ( !) it came THISCLOSE to derailing the whole deal permanently .
Only through the grace of God are we back on track ... I'm just praying praying praying the house of cards doesn't fall again until AFTER We close ...
I am NOT going to say that having a husband is like having a monkey with your checkbook on the loose ... U never know WHAT"s going to happen next ... literally . Last month was like getting brained with a coconut lol thrown from the very TOP of the tree !!
Well , as my friend from high school so aptly put it - " Welcome to Marriage " anyone who says its like living together ... HAS NO IDEA what they're talking about !! Its a grand adventure ..I'll grant her that ..
The ONLY reason I have any confidence at all in the situation is that my husband's an excellent earner despite being a financial disaster area on feet ... so I think I can work our way into financial respectability using his income fairly fast ... that is if he LETS me ... thats the part I'm still not sure will happen ...
