Sleevers, please give me feedback
Before I start kicking myself for being too high carb, for not exercising enough, for in general "failing" somehow, please give me some sleevers experience and some suggestions....
I'm not really complaining, although I do admit to a whine, so pass the cheeeeese pleeeeese. But really, I'm really just looking for some statistics to see if I need to kick myself in the butt or pat myself on the back.... or something in between.
What did your early loss look like?
I was 211 pre-surg, 200 at surgery, and I'm 5 ft tall. According to a rough body fat scale measurement, I had 100 lbs of lean muscle mass at 180 lbs in mid April.
2 weeks post-surg, I'd lost 22.5 lbs.
4 weeks post-surg, 28.5 lbs (only 6 lbs in 2 wks)
6 week post-surg, 30 lbs (only 1.5 lbs in 2 wks)
8 wks post-surg, 34 lbs (4 lbs in 2 wks)
just shy of 10 weeks, 36 lbs.
I've lost 18 inches as of mid-April.
I am exercising 90 minutes 4 days a week and my work out clothes are totally WET when I'm done. I eat between 700 and 900 calories a day, with usually one day a week around 1000. My carbs have been higher than most of you report. This week they came down to 60-80, and I expect that to drop to 50-70 now that I don't need milk for my morning protein latte/coffee. I eat more veggies than most of you to stay "regular," so my carb count is higher, but generally it's 1 fruit and 2 cups of veggies.
ok, excuse me while I go wipe this pity pot ring off my butt.

Tracey,
You're doing FINE. Some of us just don't lose as fast as others. Don't compare yourself to anyone else. I'm 5 mos out and 41.5 lbs down. By others' standards, I am losing too slowly. A lot of the vets on the sleeve board lost all their wieight in 6 mos. I can't lose 36 more lbs in a month. I won't live up to their standards. Am I ok with this? Yep. Why? Because I eat fruit. I eat veggies. I'm not willing to go so low carb right now. I did that in the past, and I felt like crap. I will revisit the issue when I get closer to goal, and if I need to adjust anything, I will, but for right now, I am happy with the loss I'm experiencing. As long as the scale moves, I'm happy. Amounts are less important. I am regular, I have good energy, I feed my body whole, nutritious foods, and I feel good generally. You're doing just fine!!! :)

It sure is! I am happy with my loss so far. :) Except remember, the last week, I didn't really do anything exercise-related, so take that for what it's worth. You're working much harder than I am. You'll be fantastic and be at go in no time flat. :) (P.S. I would highly recommend kettlebells! If you are ever interested, go to dragondoor.com and look for an RKC in your area!)
