Gina, I hope it doesn't stress you too much. Job changes of any kind can be stressfull. But we do what we have to do.

Sure it is going to be a big change, but you sound ready for a new challenge, Gina. My advice is to give yourself time to adjust to the new culture, and make sure you set boundaries for self care right at the start.

Great advice. I will let them know I need to get up and walk from time to time. You're right, I need to take care of myself and set boundries so I can do that. Thanks.

Gina, let us know if we need to take up a collection for you a laptop with an air card or some way to connect with us - LOL!!  I have a Verizon Air Card that I use on my laptop and I can access the internet from almost anywhere riding down the rode.  Most of the newer cell phones with data packages will let you do that also.  I don't know much about them.

Some of us are very needy of your services and I love reading your post every day.

I can't imagine having a stressful job right after having WLS.  You really have to devote so much time to yourself.  I know I complain about my job sometimes, but it really is a great job with lots of freedom that I enjoy.  Hope your new job is not too bad.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I can do the lap top with an air card. Check! I'm just about set. Now to have a heart to heart with Son#2 to get him to help us more when he gets home.

Good luck on your new venture!  DH an I used to carpool about that length of time each day --- get the laptop for sure -- and let the others do all the driving!

Hope you are around -- I've enjoyed your posts, too!

Gina,

Yuck!  You just described my day...don't forget the weekend planning out your meals for the week. Just not enough hours in the day and my son is still small so no help there.

Good luck with the new job, with our economy it is much better then no job at all. I use the commute time to make write out my lists, i.e grocery, weekend errands etc.  I guess you could say it is productive but it does not feel that way!

Happy Friday!  Have a good weekend.

You know, Sheri, what you're saying is exactly what I was thinking I would need to do to make this work and not to be stressed. Plan, organize and make my lists during the commutes and cook up what I can for the week on weekends. DH and I will still need to take our lunches and snacks with us and we've got those down to a pretty good science now. Thanks for the ideas and confirmation.

Sounds like your Higher Power knew you needed some time to secure your WLS future.  Now he's saying "We need you back in the fray to make a difference."

As someone who now works in a building with the guys with the stars, I sympathize with your move to the stress world, but also am glad that someone with your smarts, experience, and talents is "taking care of things" where you're going.

"We need you back in the fray to make a difference."  That's why I joined in the first place...I must be nuts but I love it so. Thanks, Tracey.
