When do you take your vitamins???

I am officially five weeks out today! Yeah!!

The scale isn't my friend but I know things are progressing. I'm back in a size 12 jeans and my bras are unfortunately getting too big.   Good bye boobies.

However, the only time that I have vomited this whole time has been when I take my vitamins  (probably because I never have much of a "full stomach" as I'm still just taking in mostly protein shakes/drinks).  When is the best time to take them? Morning, Lunch or at bed time? Seems like an all day process just to get them all in.

I am also going ot start taking some Biotin in hopes of keeping some of my hair. I saw where someone suggested 5000mcg...which would be five of the pills. Do you take them throughout the day or at once when I do eat something?

Thanks for your help!

Amy

I take them throughout the day. You can see on Menus and Miles how break up my batches. I take a lot more than you, so hopefully someone who takes about the same number as you will chime in.

I take mine pretty much in the morning, and scatter my calcium and iron throughout the day.  Oh - and my 2nd multi in the afternoon.  Not a real science to it, but it works for me.

Multis, calcium/d/mag, biotin when I wake up and before bed.  I have other meds I take at those times of it is easy for me to remember them then.
B12, potassium, msm/gloucosamen(sp)  during the day.  They sit on the computer desk.

Congrats on being 5 weeks out! It is such a big adjustment those first few months. Kudos to you for being concerned about your vites!

So sorry about the boobies! My look like sharpees in my cups now! very sad! But my neck and shoulders feel alot better!

I always seem to  be taking something.
Between the synthroid , iron, and my periostat (low dose dxycycline for gingivitis, also helps with my rosacea) I need to keep things spaced out.
An average of a typical day
0600-0700 synthroid
0700-800 periostat
0900 pepcid
1000 miralax (my new best friend!)
1100 multi, citrical, b complex, biotin 5000mcg (one capsule I get at gnc) and subl b12
1300 proferrin (iron) and vit c
1700 multi, citrical and vit d
2000 periostat
bedtime tender iron and a couple of colace.

I had to work up to this schedule and was on chewables for atleast 4 months. The vits did seem to upset my tummy. I started to take them with yogurt or sugar free cinnamon applesauce a few spoons before the vits seemed to help.

Good luck and keep up the good work!

Hi Maria,

You may want to move the vitamin C away from your Proferrin and put it with a multi or the Tender iron. I'm reading on various sites that the Proferrin doesn't like acid. You're snapping the Proferrin into 2 pieces, right?

I have no schedule but also notice that my pouch really does not like pills sometimes (especially the stool softener pills!) BUT, biotin comes in 5000 in one pill......look at target or any pharmacy and you will find it (some are also very small pills which is helpful!).
