Back to basics for me!
Good morning LW's!
What the heck happened?! I was doing so well tracking/writing everything down in my lil notebook that passed these lips, but probably over the past few weeks, I have stopped journaling! So today, its back the the basics! Tired of looking at the 130's!
I dont know if I am feeling a little ****y that I have come so far, but I am not at goal yet and not happy at 138. Just putting it out there and needing a little accountability.
I know that journaling = success.
Has anyone else been through this or would like to join me. I will be posting on Roz's menus and miles on my days off and in my notebook too!

Maria-
I have been trying to get back into the swing of things myself for the past couple of months, I get a few days on Roz's board and then I stop. Which does not make a lot of sense because I read OH every day. Anyway I am willing to buddy up and send you a reminder if you want.

When I got to a normal weight I decided to go it on my own and not do the journal I was keeping and not count everything. I still posted on Roz's Menus and Miles. I found myself letting little things creep back into my eating habits. I am a daily weigher so I saw what it was doing. I really don't want to have to write down everything I eat for the rest of my life so I decided to make a conscious effort to really pay attention to what I eat. I still post on the Menus and Miles and I still slip up but since I weigh everyday I know when to get stricter.
I will say as long I wanted to keep loosing I wrote down everything and calculated calories, fat, carbs and protein. I do calculate this maybe once a month now just to make sure I'm still on track, but I eat pretty much the same thing everyday unless I go out or have something at work.
I know when I start back exercising like I should I might actually drop a few more pounds which would be great for the bounce back.
Good luck and glad you are getting your accountability in place for yourself.

Hi Maria,
I journal my food intake everyday, and have been doing this since last May. In the past, when I have stopped journaling my food intake, I have gained weight. I have decided that this is going to be a lifetime thing that I will continue to do everyday. Journaling and exercise are the keys to success, IMHO. Journaling helps to keep me mindful of what goes into my mouth. I use Sparkpeople.com, but many people like Myfitnesspal.com. Use whatever system works for you.
When I have heard and read stories about people regaining weight, it is because they have become less mindful of what goes into their mouth. Journaling is one way to remain mindful, and research shows that long term weight loss successes journal their food intake and exercise 5-6 times/week. Also, research shows that people who journal, lose twice as much weight, as those who do not journal. It is a lot of work, but it has become a habit, like exercise.

When I did WW years ago, I know journaling helped. I've done it since I started this journey and it surprises me sometimes that I will thnk I am low, or high, and when I add everything up, I am wrong. I obviously don't have it down pat yet. So I continue on.
I'll be watching for your post when I add mine to Roz's M and M.

I am still 50# away from goal so I still journal on the OH health tracker and on menus and miles and on the Atkins forum, lol. I am trying to stay pretty low carb, but do eat good carbs.
Today,I bought some keto stix to track whether I am in ketosis or not and see if I can stay in ketosis ffor a while. I need to do some serious fat burning.
The stick was pretty pale today so it was a good incentive today to not eat some things, that are on my plan, but higher carb, cause I want to see some purple on my stick!
