It's just part of the journey hun......if I'm being honest we do look like crap after the first few months......we feel great and are exstatic about how far we have come BUT WE don't necessarily SEE what others do......as Tracey mentioned.  Lets face it we are malnourished and basically starving for several months of this journey.  I don't care how vigilant we are with water and vitamin consumption......it just isn't enough!  Our friends worry about us because the weight comes off so fast and they have all heard the horror stories about WLS.  We lose in odd places all at once making certain areas of the body look gaunt and unfortunately those places are always what is visible to the public eye.  With time your WL will even out as well as your body and people will not remember the old you anymore unless they are reminded by photos and then you will get to hear the "I can't believe you were actually that big" comments....and then you can tell all those people "see I told you I needed this surgery"......you know those people.....the ones who didn't think you were even big enough in the first place......LOL  We take the good with the bad and brush our shoulders off and pull up our big girl panties cuz lord knows those suckers keep falling off......LOL

Thanks, Heather. I did get a bit of the you weren't fat enough to begin with from this woman. I also forget I am starving, and the skin is hanging, and I am losing my hair. My hair was always a good thing for me, now it's limp and thin and stringy. And how did you know my panties are baggy? I can't seem to find what I like in my new size, cotton Hanes hi-cuts in white.

try this site for your Hanes hi-cuts.  I wear them too:
www.onehanesplace.com/

good prices, good selection. I go to the hanes leggs bali outlet, find the bras I like, then order them on sale at this site.  Right now they've got a buy 2 get 1 free going on.

I get that all the time from co-workers..not even friends! They will say "why you are looking good!" and I will say "yep 20 more to go" and they are like "no you are so skinny now, you don't need to loose any more weight!!"..Are you serious!? Would they say this to anyone else who was 160 pounds who wanted to loose 20 pounds?? I am still overweight and 20 more would just put me under being overweight..after first it got to me but I have just learned to say "thanks" and walk away..I know they mean well so I guess in the end that is all that matters..

Thanks. I need to remember that to someone looking at me, 64 pounds looks like I made it. The fact that I want to get to a healthy weight is only important to me.

I just can't  quite figure out why the world thinks  that MY weight  is THEIR business lol .  I mean I don't go around telling people to diet  !  Or  to eat !  ( I HOPE not ...  unless I  see them living on the bariatric   equivalent of  candy and cookies lol ...)

I  used to be one of those  people that hid it real well  in well tailored clothes .. and only  when the swimsuits came out  so did the comments .. well U SHOULD LOSE ... DUH!!!  IM ONLY  two hundred something LBS   HELLO ......

as If I wasn't TRYING to LOSE futilely every single gosh darned day of my life  ....

Now  sometimes uninformed  people  ask me my height and weight and tell me im anorexic and I KNOW THAT's  a JOKE.... I'm a compulsive overeater and an excess food addict  if anything ...

and I still need to ratchet the emotional  and boredom  grazing  down  with ALACRITY .

I tend to give them the same thousand-mile stare  I used to give the suburban ladies  who came to the fashion district  with their cans of green paint when I was wearing a  full length fox-fur coat .   Basically its  a " Dont F with me  B... ch stare ... I'm from Brooklyn  and i'll roll U in the dirt right here .. and by the way  I MIGHT be packing a box cutter or pitch a cell phone at Ur head  like Naomi Campell lol ... "

Im Crazier  than You works Every time .... Trust me

Thanks, Ava. You are always gutsy. I surely wouldn't mess with you. I need my crazy face more. OT, my mother gave me her persian lamb coat years ago. I couldn't wear it, because I couldn't hook it closed. Now I can and I intend to do so whenever it is cold enough or I go to Lake Tahoe in the winter.

While it's true that we can look a bit gaunt at times until everything redistributes, I think your friend is going way past honest concern and entering in the arena of *****iness and jealousy. After all, it's one thing to say "I'm concerned about you". It's another to say things like you are "getting obsessed with appearances, which is shallow." and then try to convince you that you are unlikely to look any better even if you do lose more weight.

I would have been LIVID if someone had pulled that kind of crap with me.
