Running a fever,couple questions

I know I have been MIA all week but I have just been focusing on getting well and to be honest I feel wonderful. The drains have not slowed me down but so much and I do tend to tire a bit more easier but overall I feel great (internal stomach wise)
I have a check up today at 1115 and I am sure he will be pleased with my progress. My drain has slowed down and is clear fluids, so I am sure all is going well...The issue, I am now running a high fever, 102 last night, brought down with tylenol. I know I should have gone in, but I knew I had an appt the very next day, ran the fever through the night and it is still here. Now the kicker, I believe it is strep. My throat hurts SO bad and I have a MAJOR headache, I just know it is due to that and nothing internal. My first question, would he admit me even if it is a throat issue?
Lord I truly hope not!

Ok thats the first dilemma, now on to eating, all in all, I cant.
I went an entire week with nothing to eat at all, no water, no food nothing and now my pouchie has decided to not even let in 2 oz. Of course I am trying to eat more frequently and am drinking the slimfast RTD low carb (which are really good) but other than sliders, it wont go in all that well. 1 bite of chicken is the most I can do or 2 bites of a string cheese. Or even 3 oz of soup, I am getting in as many fluids as possible but definately not reaching goal, so what else can I do? I think I have covered it all, everyone seems to be doing so wonderful and I am so proud of you!

***Oh, I have not lost ANY weight through all of this and think it is kinda funny lol

Glad you are on the mend. I hope the doc doesnt admit you, but he may need too if he is worried about inection. Remember the goal is to keep you healthy!
Keep working on your liquids, my bff who had gall bladder surgery noted how little she could eat post op and she is not a wls patient.
Will keep you in my prayers!

ps, dont worry about the weight right now, I am sure alot of it is water and inflammation from all you have been through!

Big hugs!!

I wasnt sure if it is the gall bladder causing it or basically being forced into a 5 DPT LOL...

To be honest, I have not stressed weight at all, I was curious the other day because of all the fluids they pumped into me, as of right now, I am just doing my best to get healthy and stay that way.

Honey, you do whatever that doctor tells you to do.  We all want you to be back to your bouncing happy self.  I bet that food will start going down as soon as all this fever and recovery is out of the way.  Those pounds will come off when you're not a stressed sick puppygirl.

HUGS and more hugs coming your way.  You've been a rock star through all this!

My GB surgery was at the end of my WW journey back in the 80's and it was the only way I ever reached goal weight.  Without that, I would have never been a life member.  I thought food sounded great but couldn't eat.  And that was way before I ever thought about WLS.

Do whatever you need to to get well.  Concentrate on your fluids and then slowly, like we did in the beginning, restart food.

I'm swinging for you.

Doctor was very please with me, I am happy, He was not worried about the fever considering I am having the sore throat and all.
All incision sites and tubes looked great!
it is a shock to think that the gall bladder really has that much effect on a body.

Also thought I had not lost weight according to their scale I am down to 136! I was completely shocked, he also wants me to use my G tube for added fluids while I heal...I mean heck that is what it is there for LOL...Thank you everyone.

It is a rather large tube placed into my normal stomach. Basically a feeding tube. I have it as a back up, if I have to go back in for surgery, instead of them cutting on me again, they can go in through the tube and fix what is wrong.
