Let's play small boned, large boned....
Annie, my wrist has gotten a lot smaller since I shed 90 pounds. You may find that when you're further out from surgery, your wrist becomes smaller as well. I bet you're not x-large boned! When I first had surgery, my fingers didn't meet at the wrist. Now my thumb covers the nail of my middle finger when I wrap them around my wrist.

According to my wrist, I should be at least 5'5" tall. I KNEW IT.
I am only 5' tall, but my wrist is 6.625" and has been since I started measuring it for my pre-surg and monthly meaurement days. My first muscle/body fat composition last week showed I had over 100 lbs of lean muscle. About 78 lbs of fat.
Interestingly enough, I am built just like my mom's mom, and she was a workhorse of a strong woman. I have the same huge fingernails she did: My thumbnail is .75 inch across, my pinkie: a half inch. (See what yours is: Use a post it note to measure the breadth, then place the post it against a ruler to see the measurement)
This reminds me. My mother is a tiny boned woman, and I always wanted to wear her wedding dress when I got married. Well, when I was at my tiniest, I tried on the dress and couldn't even get it zipped. I used that as an excuse to prove I was still fat.... so I lost MORE weight, and STILL couldn't wear her dress. My rib cage was just too big. But by that time, I could see the actual texture of my ribs~~ the bumps and divots in the surface of the ribs themselves. I weighed 112.
Thanks for reminding me of that, Lee. I'd forgotten that particular memory.

LOL about supposed to be 5'5". I am supposed to be 5' 7 or 8!!! I've always said I wasn't that fat, just that short!
I have the tiniest nails in the world. They look like they belong on a child. Small hands and tiny little toes. Just amazing, but that didn't stop me from covering them in fat!
That's quite a story about your mom's wedding dress. How many ways have we found to beat ourselves up and convince ourselves that we were not acceptable.
You're welcome for the memory. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Always wanted to know this. I am exactly 5'5" and have a 6.25" wrist. So I'm medium boned. My wrists and ankles have always stayed slim no matter how much weight I've gained. And even doing this today, I'm near my top weight. So maybe I'm small/medium. :)
My father is large boned, my mom is tiny boned (she's 5'1" and 110lbs). So medium is about right for me.
Fun! Thanks Lee!
