All Appointments Done! Surgery Monday!
I had my pre-assessment yesterday. Someone should've told me ahead of time that it required electrodes on your chest and stomach! I was wearing a dress and had to sit in that office topless hoping my heart didn't freak out!
Everything went fine, and I had my last pre-op support group today. I have all of my protein supplements, my tiny spoons, my robe, my tiny pillow, my vitamins and everything else I could think of to buy (including tiny pizza/baking pans and ramekins for when i'm able to eat real food again).
I had my first surgery-related dream last night. I had my surgery and I was in my hospital room and the surgeon came in to see how I was doing. I was doing great and feeling fine, and he said everything went well. I then grabbed a cup of water and drank it down, while the surgeon said "NOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!" A little strange, but I'll make sure no one leaves big cups of water in my hospital room just in case!
I'm just now starting to get a little nervous. I'm worried about pain afterwards, and I'm really worried about getting back to work quickly. I ended up getting a semi-promotion/raise this week that was scheduled to start Monday, the day of my surgery. They're going to try to run things without me, but I'd love to be back after just a week. I plan on making sure I get my liquids and protein in every single day, and making sure I rest up so I can recover as much as possible.
Anyway, wish me luck! I hope to be back as soon as possible to post a surgery update!

How awesome for you, Aleesha -- sp? sorry! I will have no pre-assessment immediately before -- they took care of it at my appointment with the surgeon at 1 month before scheduled date. Make sure you tell your family/friends about your dream and they will stand guard for you... that is too funny. I am not having dreams of that nature yet... I'm sure they will be coming.
Sounds like you are prepared for coming home, too.
Sip, walk, rest! and repeat!
Good luck tomorrow...4/15 what a happy memory for tax day!

You will do great! Mine was 4 weeks ago yesterday and I do feel great. I took 2.5 weeks off of work but could have gone back after a week or two...I just used that time to be lazy since I never get to! Sounds like you are ready!! Have a great day tomorrow, it will be over before you know it and you will be back to eating regular food again!
You will be in great hands. Hillcrest staff are the best and they will take great care of you. Your Dr is wonderful and he and Dr Scott will be wonderful. As you progress to real food again, Meg will steer you right. I was really ready for each phase but waited for all to progress. I'm sure you will do great and we will be looking for a message saying all is well and you are recovering.
