Green eyed monster lives in me.....

Thanks Linda!  I do find that I have to remind myself that I am fortunate in that my saggy skin resembles that of a mother of 2.....which I am!  My butt droops in a way that is not child bearing related but everything else definitely!

Heather, I miss your posts, always interesting and truthful.

You are already ahead of any trouble by recognizing your jealousy. You can head yourself off from sabotaging your relationship with your friend. It's hard to believe sometimes, but good for one is good for all.

Thanks for the eating reminder. Yesterday I went to a wake after a funeral. It had a full meal. I ate really well, one tiny piece of tri-tip, some salad, one bite of polenta. THEN....someone brought rolls and butter to the table. I didn't eat the whole roll, but I did eat a whole pat of butter. After, I realized I can do that, I no longer get too painfully full. The head part is needing to get in gear. My surgery can only get me so far, now I have to stay conscious.

Thank you Wendy, I sometimes feel like my endless whining on here drives everyone crazy...lol

One thing in my lfe other than my love for my kids that is certain and everlasting is my friendship with Tami!  She is family and we love eachother no matter what!  AND I really am excited for her and tell her at every chance!

Heather - so GOOD to see you back!

I have been doing pretty good with my eating, until today.  I was dead tired and ate just to stay awake... not a good thing, but I knew what I was doing when I did it.  Came home from work early and took a 2 hour nap.

I know you're very happy for your girlfriend - she needs your love and support.  I don't like the word jealous - but like to use the word envious instead.  Jealous makes it sound mean spirited and envious makes it sound like you're more happy for the other person's situation (to me anyway).

You never know what may be in your future....

Hi there Doppleganger Daughter!
My eyes are often green under the brown.
You seem to recognize it already, which is half the battle.
I have a dear friend who says to adopt an attitude of gratitude, and the jealousy will take care of itself.

Works most of the time for me.  Sigh, but not all the time.

I personally agree with Jody. I think it is normal to have some strong feelings when a good friend is having her "moment" for something really special, and that she waited so long for.

Obviously a TT will enhance your friend,, and feelings of envy are so normal (After all, who doesn't dream of a perfectly flat, young tummy again!). The word jealousy is more negative, IMHO and I can tell you love this girl, and will be so supportive of her success.

I think too, that because you are sifting through your thoughts now... You will step up when Tami has her surgery, and will be the bestest friend possible! Good luck.

Hi, Heather - glad to see you back here, too!  I love Char's idea about the grocery list... I used to do that and I need to edit that worksheet!  Perfect idea.

I know you will be just fine with your friends surgery results -- use it to your advantage and make yourself work even harder at keeping up with what you have accomplished so far!

My DD is 5 and we've made sure she has a balanced diet and (knock on wood) hope it will help with lifelong habits.

Stick around here -- love to read your posts.

Meg

OMG so I'm a tired idiot --- didn't finish my thought about DD eating habits.   What I wanted to say is that I'm sure your daughter is observant and taking in all of the successes you  have had since your procedure...also wondering if she has started her menstrual cycle yet... could that play into the gain, too???

OK I'm finished.... now I need to go to bed!
