Hi Rebecca,
Great thread.
My name is Linda, I'm 56 years old. I am an administrative assistant at a public library. I do all the administrative and financial work for the library. I am married (32 years) and have 2 grown children, both married and both have 2 year old daughters. I love my little granddaughters!! We have a miniture daschuand, Little Willie. He is our baby.
I had RNY in August 2009 and have lost around 119 pounds. One of the best things I have ever done for myself. I find myself doing things now I never dreamed I would do.

Hi Everyone.
I'm Price. I had RNY 9-9-10 and have lost 82lbs so far. Just 10-20 more to go. I'd like to get to a normal BMI, so around 125. I'm 62 and have a great DH for 38 yrs and 2 children, DD who is a college prof and DS who is developmentally disabled but a great golfer and bowler.
I have a small business which provides Medicaid services to adults with develpmental disabilities. I work out of my home and on my own time so it is kind of my retirement business. I also have a small farm with donkeys, dogs, horses and ponies. I drive carriages and compete in local competitions for fun.
I go to Curves and Zumba plus my farm work for exercise.

Hi Price, You are looking amazing in your newest picture. It sounds like you have a great job providing for others and a great schedule for yourself. I always see you talking about getting exercise from working with your animals and I think that is really great, kind of like exercise without thinking of it as exercise. I bought Zumba for Wii but I just can't get the hang of it!
Hi Rebecca! I used to hang out on the lightweights board a lot, but there was a very active member who was sending me nasty, abusive messages privately, so I avoided it for a while even though we have one another blocked now. I still check in from time to time, but it's not my "home base" anymore.
I'm Danielle, and I had VSG nine months ago and have lost 75+ pounds. I am also a full-time student graduating this May with a bachelors in nursing, BA in Spanish and minor in psychology. Until a couple of weeks ago I was also working as a caregiver to the elderly in an assisted living facility that specializes in clients with end-stage Alzheimer's and dementia. I am also single without children, and am looking forward to passing the boards and (hopefully) finding a job as an RN this summer.
I was always a pretty active person and am extremely active since losing weight. I exercise 4-7 times per week for at least an hour and a half to two hours each time. I am getting very strong, which is great for my chosen career! I had a difficult surgery and recovery, and found it hard to "go it alone" what with the lack of support from my family and friends, but I must be a glutton for punishment because I'm going back under the knife this summer (I hope) to have a breast-lift, which I have needed since the age of nine... and I haven't told my family yet. Oy.
Glad to see everyone's introductory posts. So nice to put back-stories with the faces!

Hello all, my name is Anni and I am 32 yrs old. A proud mother of a 6 yr old daughter, 2 dogs (boxers. Earl & Dave), and a 17 yr old cat (Azriel) that I bottle fed when I was a jr in high school! Since I was 14 I have only had jobs that deal with animals. A veterinary technician, a pet groomer, and a stint as a supervisor and worker at a hog farm! I consider myself a dog groomer though, as it is what I do best, and got the most acclaim for. I am now currently unemployed because of crippling spinal osteoarthritis and now what seems to be my first fibromyalgia flare triggered by the physical and mental stress of my surgery. I would still do it again though. I have been obese since I was in 2nd grade and have lived a life of self doubt, self hatred and self hatred, from being that way. It totally shaped my life and the bad decisions that came along. I felt I had to take any whatever from anybody because I didnt deserve any better. I have in the past few years goten my personal life back together and feel like this surgery will finally give me the freedom that I deserve. My RNY was exactly one month ago today and have lost over 20 lbs. I am excited for the future and cant wait to possibly be able to take my dogs for a walk again!
Hi Anni. Where is your city? I'm from the Asheville, Hendersonville area and there are several of us around there.

Hi Price, I'm from "nowhere" NC!! really its a tiny town called Hobgood. It doesnt even have a stop light. The nearest "big" town is Tarboro. Then (you might have heard of this one, maybe) Rocky Mount. Rocky Mount is about a 30 min drive SW from me. I used to live in Greenville (East Carolina University) for about 8 years, then moved back home because of health issues.
